EDO VR not working at all

Hi there.

I bought myself a Pico 3 Neo Link recently. Had a Rift in 2019 and the difference is huge, at least for me.
Every game i touched so far is working flawless. Great experience so far.

But EDO crashes immediately on the splash screen with VR enabled (SteamVR). Game without VR is also working as intended.
I can see barely the Odyssey splash screen and got directly prompted to a crash report.

What did i try:

  • reinstall Pico Software and SteamVR
  • testing beta builds and other builds available in Steam for SteamVR
  • Switched SteamVR dll files with newer ones that has been provided by the game itself.
  • Try to start with EDProfiler

Finall switched all back to default and checking with other games again = no issues.
Just EDO remains the game that won't start at all.

System:
Ryzen 5800X3D
G.Skill 32GB DDR 4 @ 3600 Mhz
Geforce RTX 3080 (536.40)
Pico 3 Neo Link via DP

Someone encounterd this behavior before? I'm out of ideas. :(

Thanks in advance.
Cheers.

Been a big proponent of the Neo 3 link since I bought one to replace my Rift S. In fact I bought the Pico 4 too, but decided to sell it and keep the N3L. Shame that more people aren't familiar with this great PCVR headset. All the hype was around the 4, but for seated sim play, it's the better headset. I use my Q2 for standalone, so the link is solely for PCVR. Great visuals, and great performance.

Had the same issue as Eddieson, crash at the loading screen in VR. Didn't really want to play in flat screen and didn't see this issue raised in the forums in the first couple of days. I was beginning to think it was just my set up and was resigned to waiting for a patch that would maybe fix it.

So a big THANK YOU to Helmut for the solution. I would never have found that out on my own.

It’s always worth checking the News section of the forum after an Update:

…and the VR bug thread in this sub-forum, new issues are normally highlighted quickly 👍
