EDProfiler - A New Display Switcher/Robust Settings Profiler/Switcher/Detector!

Appologies if this has already been brought up but in the Graphics setting on top right VR medium and VR high are grayed out, also when I click on of the non grayed out ones I get an error could not find part of the path C:/SteamLibrary/steamapps\common\EliteDangerous\OptionsDefaults\vrhigh.fxcfg. which is probably a problem because my graphics files are in C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Elite Dangerous\Products\elite-dangerous-64\OptionDefaults. Can I change where that points from my end?

Either you are using the 32bit version of Elite, or EDProfiler is finding that and using it for its autodetect. Email me and we can get to the bottom of it.

Hi drkaii, can't remember if you have access to beta but just to let you know there is a new setting in the graphics menu of 2.3 beta:

TERRAIN LOD BLENDING

Yep I know. Finally got round to adding it.

EDProfiler is updated to 2.3, and works fine with 2.2 so I've pushed it through the normal update route. Just hit Update and it will grab it.

I will make it mandatory when 2.3 goes live

what?

Turns out I am an unthinking buffoon. If you don't have the beta you need to get the latest version of EDP which I updated just now. The original 2.3 release would cause you errors

I've added a fix that may or may not fix the problem. Could you close EDProfiler, then open the file Documents\EDProfiler\Defaults\Paths.xml and remove the path from between the < EDInstallPath>< \EDInstallPath> tags, restart EDProfiler and see if the problem is fixed? If there is an error send that to me: kaii@dr.com

I've also changed the tab order, so you can now tab properly through the settings, and I've worked on the error messages a bit more so if people get the error from before, I can diagnose it easier as it will tell me more info.

Updated to 2.3.0.3

p.s. thanks guys for the recent donations. MAKES SUCH A DIFFERENCE, you have no idea <3 <3

Another minor update, as a second person just emailed me with a missing custom.misc file. EDProfiler will now give a warning rather than an error when this happens, and grey out the HUD brightness until resolved.

Hi drkaii,

I'm running 2.3.0.4. I find that setting a value in the new 'Terrain LOD Blending' drop-down is not causing the 'Save profile' button to become active. e.g.

Select a different profile at the top. The 'Save profile' button is greyed out. Change the Terrain LOD Blending; the Save profile button does not become active.

Thanks! Will fix in 2.3.0.5

In the mean time, change something else (and change it back) to get that functionality

Daym, thanks man. To be honest, the whole greying out of that save button code was sloppy and I never got round to tidying it up. Really appreciate it :)

Dr Kaii, nice work mate. I've used this as a backup for my profiles especially in testing VR setups and changing gpu cards.

You really should now add a DISABLE ASW button please.

Also you may consider the AUDIO SWITCH for headphones just as Win10 has now added.

Plus PROGRAM LAUNCHER for what we like to add just as Virtual Desktop has maybe.

Hey, did you see the "Custom Files" button? In there, you can add pretty much anything, just like Virtual Desktop, and it will run them if you hit "Apply" (and the checkbox is ticked). You can put batch files to turn off ASW (which can also be done with a keyboard shortcut anytime you want) and switch audio too. I am not intending to add any controls for external apps, only Elite Dangerous controls.

Hmmm. I tried that and the settings didn't stick.

Very odd, please email me kaii@dr.com

What order does it run in, Elite setting then custom batch file or the other way round?

Or, more to the point, if I put an audio switcher in there can I read which setting (Monitor/Oculus) is being applied in my batch file and switch to the appropriate audio?

Oh and thanks, really handy utility :D

+1 for this idea.

Ok I am curious, what is this? Google isn't helping.

I don't want to speak for him but he might be referring to the DTS Headphone enable/disable in the game's audio options. If he isn't, then consider this a request :)

I'll consider it, running out of space now!

Not sure I am getting you but the custom files are run (a few millionths of a second) before the game settings are applied.

You can have a different set of custom files for each profile, so make one for Monitor and one for VR
