EDProfiler - A New Display Switcher/Robust Settings Profiler/Switcher/Detector!

There should be no reason why this app FORCES this godawful HUD colors. They are uselss in VR.
Without this app I wouldn't have been able to create a custom green for VR, It worked brilliantly for that.

except the preset doesnt save the colors correctly (last color field is left empty)
Yes the last GUI field doesn't remember the manually inserted values, How I worked around this bug in the app is to manually edit the GraphicsOverride xml file in Elite itself, I edited/inserted the last field into Elite's xml file, save that, then it appears in the App's GUI settings, problem solved.

My custom green is perfect/beautiful in VR, and this App was indispensable for the experimentation required. My custom green setting differs to the default green in that my green restores the colour tones of the humans in Elite, its a slightly warmer green than the bright green provided.

Another bug related to 2D display settings;
EDP > set 2D display setting to 640x480 > launch Elite in VR , Elite always starts with 2D display setting of 1280x800 irrespective of what your App tells it to do, Your App's (low) 2D display settings are not executed in Elite.

If Elite's option 2D display settings are changed in VR to lowest values, (VR > Options > Display), and if the game is exited, then EDP does detect the lower 2D display graphics settings, but upon re-launching the game in VR Elite's 2D display setting has defaulted to 1280x800.

I think that this is a Elite bug because Elite VR doesn't remember the last saved 2D Setting, yes this is asking your App to fix a F-Dev bug.

I can confirm that.

There should be no reason why this app FORCES this godawful HUD colors. They are uselss in VR. I wanted to revert back to defaults, so I open the GUI editor, choose default but it doesnt save the settings. So I have to create a preset, except the preset doesnt save the colors correctly (last color field is left empty). If I click on GUI Editor the app crashes. Frankly I dont care about all this custom HUD crap and dont need it. Proves to be nothing but trouble.

Custom hud colours are great and been using them years, but ...

The new version of edprofiler doesn't save the last set of colours, ie Blue ( as mentioned above ) I have to manual put those values in and apply before I launch.

Since I have two monitors and a HMD I figured out I have to choose 'Tertiary' for the display for launching in VR. Anyway to make that more obvious ?

As a multi account owner I'm using a good ol' .bat file to switch accounts, any plans to have edprofiler do this automatically ? ( basically just allow people to put in the location of their user conf files and have edprofiler do the copy bit each time ). Please :)

So do you just add those lines in as they are displayed into ED Profiler? Red, Green, Blue? (and edit the xml file as appropriate)?

Edit: answered my question... just pasted those into the profiler and looked at the editor - NICE LOOK!!!

Also - it did update my xml file correctly.

Never had any issues with this excellent program but since the last update to the game when I launch the game via the program it only gives me the option to Purchase ED and not Launch the game. Run it via the normal game launcher and the option is back. Any ideas?

I am trying to install the EdProfile program but my windows security settings are stopping me. On top it says"Your administrator has blocked thhis application because it potentially poses a security risk to your computer." On the bottom next to a red shield it reads"Your security settings do not allow this application to be installed on your computer." There is no link saying "more" or any way to override the warning. I tried going into my Windows 10 Home version settings and even changed over to develepor mode which should allow me to install programs as long as thy're signed but I'm still getting the same error message. Does anyone know the way this can be altered or overridden? The only operative button on the warning is "close". Anyone know how to change the security settings correctly so i can install the program? Would appreciate any and all help with this.

I'm also having the same issue as DWinston33 when trying to install EDProfiler. I'm using Windows 10 Pro - Build 16299

ED Profiler is coming up with an error window when I try to select one of the graphical pre-sets saying it cant find path of the path to an ED file. It's asking for the old location of ED (pre clean Win 10 install). I saved many folders and files, so that could explain why it's asking for the directory it is. I'm not sure how to fix this, and have just tried a clean install of EDProfiler. I have the exception window as a jpeg and I also have the log from the error window if you need it. Ta.

EDIT: I found the 'paths' file in my documents folder that was copied over after wiping. Edited it to point to the right directory and now I'm all good.

EDIT 2: Had to delete the entire EDProfiler folder in documents because of some other error I didn't notice before. *That* seems to have fixed it.

Got a bit of a problem. I had to wipe my computer and completely forgot that EDP's code was on my C drive. I am not sure when I last checked it in. I have a backup from august last year, but I did a big change to the UI and added the chat logs since then. I will have to try and figure out how to get it back, in the meantime, BE ANXIOUS, BE VERY ANXIOUS

EDIT: Good organisation saves the day. I have the entire thing backed up from File History in windows. Need to remove some name tags from files but looks like it's all ok.

I am genuinely breathing a sigh of relief.

And also, since I probably haven't said it before - thank you for creating this indispensable utility.

Please have a look at the first answer to this, seems to be your issue: https://superuser.com/questions/125...plication-due-to-security-settings-windows-10

I downloaded setup.exe from www.drkaii.com, it took 3 tries to doenload.
Ran the setup, it started downloading and stopped at 364 KB of 6.93 MB, then I get a timeout and this log:

Please try downloading and installing EDP from Internet Explorer rather than Chrome etc.

I'm trying to get ED Profiler to work with my Rift, and am having an issue. I set things up as per the attached screen grab. When I 'Launch Elite' when wearing my Rift, the game loads, but the audio changes from my headset to my default Windows speakers.
If I run ED from SteamVR the audio is retained through the Rift headphones OK, so not sure about what is going on.
Can anyone help?
