Don't believe the EDSM Codex is working platform at the moment, not for a few years, and the funny jump data has also been happening for years, you should use your own in game codex and use something like EDDiscovery to look at travel maps.

Yeah there are a lot of stars with the same name, there are also quite a few stars with incorrect coordinates in EDSM, in the early days it was all manual data entry with no API to transmit data so things inevitable got messed up. Can't really be relied on to be 100% accurate. EDDiscovey on the other hand generates its data from your own journals so can be a bit more reliable.
