Effects of 4 pips on other stuff?

So, people aready made a lot of experimentation on SYS maxed pips and indeed, we have a good estimate of the boost in shield strenght.

...But what about the other ones?

4 pips on Engines give you your real top speed, but that's already a granted since each pip gradually increases the top speed. Any other bonuses? (I'm taking the respective recharges for granted)

What about 4 pips in Weapons? Any boost in damage? Any extra bonus aside from "more pool to draw energy from"?

And sorry if that's answered in some other thread. I tried using the search, but that turned out being less productive than searching manually for a specific type of station using only the in-game Galaxy Map.
 
4 pips in weapons means energy weapons tend to recharge faster as well. Doesn't increase the damage per shot, but can boost dps by allowing you to fire more often.
 
4 pips to sys mean extra shield resistance and faster capacitor recharge. It will not recharge your shield faster by having more pips in sys.
4 pips to engines are exactly like you said higher top speed and ability to boost more often. This also makes your maneuvering thrusters more powerful, meaning you won't slide around as much and have faster turn rates.
4 pips to weapons does technically mean more damage as you will be able to fire your weapons longer since its actively recharging while you're shooting. It does not make your weapons actually do any more damage however.

upgrading your distributor will not make your shields recharge faster it will however boost all of the above effects.
all shields recharge at exactly the same rate and all come online at 33%
shields take longer to recharge because their capacities are different. 33% for a class 2 will take less time than a class 7.
shield boosters augment your availible capacity which is why shields take longer to recharge with them equipped.
you can turn off shield boosters when your shields go down lowering your total amount of shields which in turn means 33% comes sooner you can turn them back on when your shields come back online.
shield boosters provide more shields per MW than upgrading the shields. Going down a class of shield to fit another class A booster will give you a stronger shield. So long as you are under the optimal shield mass, and when they do go down with boosters off your shield will recharge faster due to having a lower class shields generator.
Class B cell banks provide less charge per capacitor but have more capacitors. The total amount of MJ's restored is greater in a class B than a class A.
