Either/Or Animal Choice

I'm surpised a lot of people prefer the aye aye over the Brazilian Porcupine, thought the porcupine would dominate.
I would take the porcupine too, but i had to choose and already selected a lot of SA animals hahaha

You picked rhea and mara so i can ALMOST forgive you for not choosing coati.

It's almost funny how we all can work sometimes. Myself included, not singling anyone out here.

We need more South American animals: then proceeds to choose the Non South American animals in these faceoffs.
We need less carnivores: then proceeds to choose the carnivores in these faceoffs

My admission to this, being all about needing more habitat birds...and then a general region pack is suggested and what do I say I'd change out? the one or two birds chosen of course...

:LOL::rolleyes:

Cute this cute that, ugh, I find cute animals boring. I puke at the thought of getting a petting zoo animal pack with cute bores in it.
Tree porcupines aren’t that cute though.

Aye-Aye all the way, there is nothing like it, and I prefer the evil look. Can’t stand people that hate ugly/freaky animals, they are uglycists.

well instead of boring cliche domestic, what about more unique ones like the Scottish Highland Cow, Zebu, Ankole-Watusi, Guinea Fowl, etc. also this is adorable.

My plan is working, this thread shall finally raise the Brazilian porcupine from lowly requested oddball to the upper echelons of want lists. Granted, too late for it to make the game, but it shall thus remain visible as an “almost made it in” animal

J/k but really no ulterior motive here. The pictures are appreciated though!

Spectacled Bear or American Black Bear: Spectacled Bear is the only bear of SA, while for NA we already have Grizzly Bear and Polar Bear
Howler Monkey or Hamadryas Baboon: Hamadryas Baboon is the most essential one for the Middle East theme, while Howler Monkey may have other New World monkeys as substitute.
Coatimundi or Tree Kangaroo: Tree Kangaroo is the most essential one for New Guinea theme, Coati is essential but not the most
Ocelot or Pallas Cat: Comparatively Pallas Cat has more unique appearance
Greater Rhea or Shoebill: Although currently we need birds for SA, the Shoebill is my favorite bird, so sorry Greater Rhea
Duck (any species) or Pelican (any species): I prefer larger birds generally
Walrus or Muskox: bovids are overrepresented in the game, Walrus as the unique-looking pinniped would be better
Markhor or Blackbuck: we have enough antelopes in the game, Markhor has more unique appearance
Spider Monkey (any species) or Golden Snub Nosed Monkey: both are essential to me, GSNM is the "national treasure" in my home country so takes this round
Patagonian Mara or Rock Hyrax: both are great, Patagonian Mara is the most essential species for the Patagonian theme so earns priority here
Otter (Temperate Species) or African Civet: Temperate Otter would be the great addition for EU or NA theme, especially the Sea Otter
Serval or Racoon Dog: I would like to have both but Serval is definitively more popular
Giraffe (second species) or Zebra (second species): actually I don't want either, since all Giraffe and Zebra species represent African savanna and semidesert themes only, there is no necessary for second species. The reason why I pick Giraffe here b/c the different Giraffe species at least have different appearance that we can distinguish at first glance)
Elk or Himalayan Tahir: Elk is more versatile here, and deer is significantly more popular than bovid (based on Deladysigner's top 100 list)
Honey Badger or Black Footed Ferret: Honey Badger fits with the game better, it is much larger, more active and more popular.
Bat Eared Fox or Bush Dog: it is good to see this interesting SA canid, Bat-eared Fox has similar look and function as Fennec Fox so lose priority to Bush Dog
Gelada or Squirrel Monkey: I don't pick Howler Monkey and Spider Monkey above, so I choose the Squirrel Monkey here. With the Baboon, Gelada is not necessary
Brazilian Porcupine or Aye Aye: Just personal preference, Aye-Aye is one of the most unusual Primate and associates with the devil (sounds cool isn't it?).
African Leopard or Lion (second sub-group/Asiatic): I don't care either, but the African Leopard is more versatile than second Lion.
Numbat or Brushtail Possum: Although I generally like unique species, Numbat may be too small as habitat species, I go with Possum this time

More hard hitting questions. You can only choose one of each set. Though I've tried to group them somewhat similarly, not all sets are part of the same family, some are group in some other way according to the way my brain works.

Brazilian porcupine
African leopard
Numbat

Spectacled Bear or American Black Bear
Howler Monkey or Hamadryas Baboon: based on gelada being available later
Coatimundi or Tree Kangaroo: tough one!
Ocelot or Pallas Cat: also nice to get another habitat animal for the US Southwest
Greater Rhea or Shoebill: we need an African wetland bird (although I prefer crowned crane)
Duck (any species) or Pelican (any species): depends on species, but overall duck
Walrus or Muskox
Markhor or Blackbuck: glaring need for an Indian antelope/deer! PZ cannot be complete for me without one
Spider Monkey (any species) or Golden Snub Nosed Monkey: best large monkey for the Neotropics, but I'd take an Indian monkey species over it and GSNM
Patagonian Mara or Rock Hyrax
Otter (Temperate Species)
or African Civet: only if sea otter
Serval or Raccoon Dog
Giraffe (second species) or Zebra (second species): Grevy's
Elk or Himalayan Tahr: more than makes up for missing the markhor above
Honey Badger or Black Footed Ferret: feels like another must-have animal for the game
Bat Eared Fox or Bush Dog: underrated in South America conversations but super interesting animal
Gelada or Squirrel Monkey
Brazilian Porcupine or Aye Aye
African Leopard or Lion (second sub-group/Asiatic)
Numbat
or Brushtail Possum
