So I found this game called Unknown on my IPhone

it is literally a Port of Elite the original game with a different name, 'multi-player' and micro transactions
I hope i am wrong but i am pretty sure i am not, so frontier need to know about this and take it down!:mad:

Doesn't look like a port to me, rather it's very heavily inspired by Elite - though I could be wrong of course.

The problem I see is that it's perhaps too close to the source material, with ship models, system names, etc. being identical. Pioneer copied the UI and most of the controls and mechanics, but AFAIK they use their own ship models, textures, names and so forth. Unknown (silly name) does appear to reuse assets as well.

Taking all this AND selling credits via ingame microtransactions is definitely not cool, even if it is not a port but written from scratch. Probably something for the legal department to look at.

Completely free port / remake with acknowledgements to Ian Bell & David Braben would fine IMO.
But the second you get money involved, you're doing it wrong.
