just looking at getting back into Elite after many years away and have been looking at EDCD. one thing that is stopping me using it is how small the font is on the Mission explorer/Chat log /Commanders log. Can they be increased? If so could you give us an idiots guide please - I can't currently try it out.

A good suggestion. I’ll look into a way of specifying the font size in an upcoming release.
Meanwhile, you could change windows desktop preferences and change the DPI for fonts to 125% or more. It should respect that and scale accordingly

Looking for a bit of assistance with using the Cougar Display software with a Touchscreen.

I can't get any of the buttons to do anything - I have used the EliteKeyTester.exe to ensure that Elite can receive key press sequences, and this is working correctly.
When I use the Thrustmaster Event Tester, this shows that there are no keystrokes coming from EDCD - keystrokes from all other applications are showing up on there.

I have also tested that the touchscreen display is working correctly - it registers all other touchscreen inputs on it.
I also tried clicking the buttons on the EDCD windows in case it was an issue with the touchscreen presses being registered, but this did not work either.

EDCD is working correctly to pull data from ED - it's showing all the correct stuff and Icons (such as Landing Gear, Lights, etc.) are lighting up when they are active in-game, but I can't get any output from EDCD.

Have I missed something basic to enable touchscreen/mouse click input?

I'm keen to get this working so I can test it with my setup - my plan is to move to smaller, non-touchscreen displays with the physical Cougar MFDs if this works - and will be subscribing to the Patreon if I can get this working and it's usable.

I wonder if you are docked in a station when you are pressing the MFD buttons?
All button presses are disabled when docked by default.

Also, please read http://cougardisplay.site/troubleshoot.html
Carefully. In particular the section on tools and using eliteKeyTester in conjunction with EliteClient and also EDCD with EliteClient.
The fact that pressing an icon on the touchscreen display with the mouse and pressing the MFD button are showing as no key press in the tools (including thrustmaster event tester) is very strange. It’s almost as if the MFDLayout.xml file has empty key binds. It may be worth posting here a snippet of one of the xml entries.
When troubleshooting it’s worth focusing effort on one single Elite action, eg lights on and then build on the success with other key presses.
I also wonder what your elite key bindings is for lights on, etc.
one final note - is everything in English? Elite/EDCD xml files/windows OS

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly - turns out that I was being super cautious and testing everything out while I was docked!
I must have missed that it's disabled while docked.

Once launched it seems to be working fine - I'll get my touchscreens set up and test it fully tomorrow.

Thanks again for the swift support.

If you want button presses when docked, you can change the MFDCougar.ini file to this:

[Joysticks]
ButtonPressWhileDocked=1

Perfect, thanks - I don't think I'll need to have them activated when docked, it was just me being overly cautios when testing :D

Good to know I have the option though - I should have had a good look through the INI to see what settings were available as part of my troubleshooting.
