The cost isn't that high, unless you are a pirate or bounty hunter interdicting. The price of w&t is about 1/10 of 1% of the ships original value. That's not bad on a trade vessel, but it is a bit high on those who interdict a lot considering the revenue they gain by interdicting. Therefore it needed to be balanced.

Well... 45000Cr x 100% = 4.5 MCr for 100% W&T, that is 1/5 of the ship's original value and maybe 1/8 of the ship's actual value. In the clipper I could live with it, but for an Anaconda... phew.

Fixes coming along I see...

I guess we'll be slowly getting there. Eagerly awaiting V1.3.09 in about 3 weeks to cover most of the issues created with V1.3 alone :D

So which launcher is it going to be today? The launcher that the launcher lets you download? Or the launcher in the store?

Let's flip a coin...

It seems that both are the current version 0.4.2854.0 and yet the one on the store is 110MB and the other is 11MB. I chose the smaller file and it worked.

FD, any chance you could add a note the bottom of the patch notes to indicate that a new launcher is required? Something we can get on with whilst the servers are down (along with work of course *cough*)

...I really wish you would give at least a little more than 10 minutes notice

In my head I have this image of chaos in the Cambridge office in the hour leading up to a patch release of producers shouting to the coders "is it ready yet!?" and then 15 mins before release "GO GO GO!" and then poor Ed is frantically trying to get the patch notes out :)

Considering an Anaconda costs 145 million, that is about 3% of the ships original value. The insurance payment on a destroyed ship is 7,250,000.

wow , i thought you would have had one yonks ago ..... so much for all that pre alpha daydreaming ;)

Nope...holding out for the consumer version. Can easily get affected by motion sickness so I want them to polish the experience as much as possible before I get one. Haven't even tried one out yet.

The drone fixes are welcome, I'll have to see if it affects the glitch I noticed yesterday - I'd launch 2 drones and they'd end up acting as one, going after the same item. I could see them both go for it, one would grab it and both would return (in short, wasting a drone in redundant behavior). Sometimes it would kick itself out of the behavior, but often it would go on until it ran out of fuel and blew up.

My calculation was for my Clipper! 45kCr = 1% W&T

For an Anaconda (lets say 150 000 000 Cr) the equivalent for 1% W&T would be 193kCr, so for 100% W&T 19.2 MCr.... which may be ok.

Edit:
According to some here on the forums the actual W&T repair costs for the bigger ships are much higher... almost 300 000 Cr for 1% on a Python (100% = 27.5MCr = ~6x rebuy cost). Idk if that was fixed.

Hey, is it possible to put a few tonnes of high-value metals and/or imerals into the ships at High-Intensity RES? It would be better for pirates raiding the HI-RES, as currently they only carry the equipment necessary for mining. Do I need to wait around for them to collect cargo before stealing it? This wouldn't make sense though, because the NPCs were there before me (So it doesn't seem as if they were created upon the formation of the instance).

I think we know that, but why list "Updated to 0.5" as a "new feature" in the patch notes then? Isn't this what te game is already running at?
No, ED was previously running a revision of SDK 0.4. Rift users will already be running Runtime 0.5+ (some have got Runtime 0.6 working) which is backwards compatible with software running older SDKs.

The improvements SDK 0.5 brings to ED's engine will be amongst the changelog, see Oculus PC SDK 0.5.0.1 Beta: https://developer.oculus.com/history/archive/

What version of the Oculus Runtime do I need to have installed on my system. Am currently still running 0.4.4. Can I upgrade to 0.6? or should I install 0.5.1? if so can someone provide me with a link to the "old" 0.5.1 version as the Oculus site only provides links to 0.6
