Elite: Dangerous Battlecards Update

Why? Was the quality not what you expected?
The Delivery time and the absence of communication was not expected. These believe these boxes have been sitting in a UK warehouse since before Lavecon. They should not treat their customer like that. Sure, it's easy to blame covid, but I get ship stuff from all over the world. it shouldn't have taken an extra 6 months. I wouldn't have minded so much if they had used their ED Battle cards Blog, or facebook or twitch or a simple email to keep us updated. A simple sorry would be nice ! This was, at one stage, supposed to be my Christmas present for 2019. I heard they had black printing problems early on (from 3rd parties), but where was the simple customer service?

On Quality, there is a obvious mistake in the READ THIS FIRST form. It talks about 4 decks of cards & the biggest one being the starter pack. There are 5 decks in the season box. You are supposed to start learning the game by using the starter pack of Empire & Federation cards, I think you want the 2 smallest packs, one with the Fed card list at the front and the other smallest pack with a empire ship on the front. The empire card list is in the the fed pack with a few empire ship cards too. If you have mixed in the expansion cards already it get very confusing and you will have to un-mix them using the empire & fed lists.

The original pictures of the game box used to sell the season box also shows little compartments for your dice and 3 slots to hold your cards etc. this stops the decks from floating around the inside of the box and protentially getting damaged. The box delivered does not have the same intera at all. a few re-sealable bags for your counters and dice are included, but I think I will need to find rubber bands (or something better) to keeps the decks together, ready to play. Finally, the dice provided are white with black spots. I don't think they look as cool as the blue dice with gold spots (to match the colours of the gameboard)

Played a 5 games of ED Battlecards, enjoyed about 4/5 of them (even the ones I lost). Sometimes, as with any random based game its not gonna be your day.

Is there a Spider mind forum for this game, as I have a few questions from the games. Ask here, but much beter on the game's forum if it exists.

1) A miner that retreats from illegal mining, does this count as in the zone for the purposes of -1 build to your opponent. We played "not it has retreated", but a reading carefully of the cards woudl suggest it does subtract one form your opponent.
2) Corrolis Mission. Does the non-hasty player pay half cost in just the Space Station zone, or in all zones. We played just the space station zone, quick read of the mission suggested all zones.

If there is a forum, can soneone let me know.

It would be good if we could generate a place to discuss these things now that people have the game in their posession. Perhaps here, for the want of a better place.

On your point 2 I'd say it would be just the Space Station zone where the half cost applies.

We had a number of questions coming out of our first play-throughs, and I wish I had written them down now! One that is still in my head is when you win a zone by destroying all opponent's ships, can you still go on to finish any remaining actions in that zone? Whilst attacks make no sense I did have an un-drained card that enabled me to pick up 3 more cards. Which I did.

I'd really like to get some card storage boxes/dividers, if anyone knows any nice ones. ED Battlecards appear to be slightly larger than normal playing cards, so standard-sized ones are unlikely to work.

I can answer the after "you have won" bit.
Yes you can perform actions with card left in the zone. Some explorers can move as an action, so you can re-deploy them, some card left you pout them back in the hand, and passenger ships move to the adjacent zone. So worth considering what to put in a zone if it looks like you are winning.

Not played it for a month or so, but I thought your opponent could lay a card in a zone even after you destroyed all their ship, except for the mission cards that expressly prohibit this.

At the moment I have my cards in bags in the boxes. I was thinking about getting sleeves, so thanks for the note about size.

While I'm not aware of an actual official forum, the ED:RPG unofficial discord server is pretty close. There's a channel in there dedicated to ED:Battlecards and there's a good concentration of Battlecards owners there as well.
