Elite Dangerous becomes unresponsive to input if I ALT-TAB away from it to another APP.

Anyone else had this problem?

It started recently but I made a few changes to my setup almost simultaneously, so I can't determine the cause...

1) I upgraded to Windows 10
2) I installed an Oculus Rift CV1
3) I upgraded the NVIDIA drivers. (but went back to .69 due to SLI login bug)

Basically, what happens is:

ALT TAB away from Elite to another program, usually ED-Discovery or Chrome, and often (not always, which is infuriating) cannot Alt tab back.
Elite is still running, but I cannot select the window either by mousing over it and clicking, or by using the Task bar or task manager. It stubbornly stays behind any active applications.

The only option is to close the window forcibly by right clicking the icon in the Task bar and closing it.

This has caused me to twice crash out of supercruise by getting too close to something and being unable to regain control of my ship.

I will add this to the bug forum, too, but just wanted to see if it's only me. If it is, I will continue to try and figure out what the cause is.

not done it myself . though powering up now so will check. are you talking in game or from menu?
I solved driver issue , using latest in sli mode.
you need to do a uninstall first, reboot and then a complete install:)

I can alt tab out of menu. I cant in game because alt is set too outside cam.

Doctor: "Then don't do that."

I alt+tab in and out of Elite all the time without incident. I do, however, on some occasions, have the game start up to a plain black screen that does nothing, ever, and is resolved by rebooting my PC.
I don't however, have or use an Oculus, so I suspect the issue may well be related to something Oculus-related. Any updates available? I'd check that first.

What I do when I need to look on eddb.io or elitetradingtool.co.uk or youtube is use the steam overlay and use the web browser feature. Works better that way.

eddb.io is a like a third home to me... and one of many reasons there are 3 PCs in my office.
If only... it were possible to run ED in an RDP session...

Usually those problems get fixed by setting the game display mode to "borderless window" instead of fullscreen.

Not at home now, but I believe there is such a setting in ED's options menu.

I tried both windowed and borderless. No dice. Might try fullscreen, because it seems to be more of a window manager problem than an actual ED problem.

I sometimes have to click the screen if I see a mouse pointer. And it works again. Win 10 here.
