Elite Dangerous Bootcamp - How to Bulletproof Utility Ships

Hi everyone,

I've just uploaded another video for my PVP Bootcamp Series.

This video in particular is about the "flip-side" of the PVP coin, and shows that defenceless utility ships may not be so defenceless after all.

Great video, MassiveD. Nice to see this one make it out. When did we conduct those tests? It must have been several months ago now.

Hehe, it was mid January... I needed a break badly :)

But now I'm back (say it in Austrian accent), regular programme will resume

Awesome news! Yes, I've been taking a bit of a sabbatical, too, but as I told you in chat I'm getting back to work on a PvP Vulture tonight.

Nice video! Although as I posted on Youtube I am not sure its really for beginners as you mention in the opening gambit due to all that engineering required especially at G5. Certainly something I will to aspire to when it finally drops on PS4. Liked and subscribed. Thanks.

the issue I have is that it includes engineering, especially a lto g5 ones. At the point where people can afford such setup and so many G5 they are already beyond begginers loadouts anyways. So it is not as "beginner" as the video told in the beginning. It would be much more interesting how that T7 would perform without all these g5 upgrades. And I am not sure if I even want to mention the prismatics beeing mentioned as well. thats 4 weeks and quite some combat someone has to go in first to get that stuff. At this point he is surely mostlikely beyond beginners capablities when to comes to choosing a layout.

The idea of the video generally is great, but I wonder if there is a true "beginner" loadout possible.
Further whats the tip for them when the lurkers are in the target system? High waking works nice to get mass lock free out of the scene, but you also may have to exit the sysetm you wanna sell your stuff and make the next encounter again when returning.

Great info! Although a lot of engineering is needed to make a trade ship that bulletproof, the same principles can be used without engineering and would still be effective in PvE situations.

Sorry, but I was told that trading ships are simply food for gankers.

Stop spreading alternative facts, Massive.

LOL, yes how dare I :D

Engineering is really not that bad, I have a guide on how to reach G5 very quickly (sort of like a work around, you can see it on my channel), with this Type 7 it took me like 2 days to fully engineer it, using my own guides. The hardest parts to engineering is litteraly unlocking the engineers themselves, after that it's smooth sailing

Nice video and encouraging for those starting out in smaller ships. MassiveD is right on with the statement about getting started with access to the Engineers as the biggest hurdle. It is far easier for seasoned players to collect mats and rep to gain access.
And by the way , cool type 7 :D .

Cheers Cmdr's

Thank you Sir o7
