Elite: Dangerous Display Switcher

Great app. With regards to Refresh Rate, it appears there is only a selection of four frequencies in the drop down list, 60, 70, 75 and 120 Hz. Is it possible to add others (My monitor runs at 144Hz). Also, although the app switches fine to 75Hz when I click on the OR button, it remains on 75 Hz when I click the monitor button if I have 120 Hz set for Monitor (it's fine if I have 60 or 70 set). Cheers.

If you select 120 Hz it updates the settings correctly, but EDDS still shows 75 Hz. I have located the bug and will fix it in the next update. I'll also add the option to insert your own refresh rate.

Basically, what I'm asking here is ... generally speaking, do I really NEED to make my dk2 my PRIMARY and ONLY monitor in order to get the BEST performance. Many player's here seem to believe that you HAVE to do this and you seem to be one who may have an answer. In your reply above it seems as if you do what I do and use DK2 as secondary.

The mileage seems to vary when it comes to the DK2 and ED. What works for some may not help one bit for others, so I will not state anything categorically. Personally I get the performance I need when I have DK2 as secondary (steady at 75 fps), so I leave it that way for convenience. I have not tested with DK2 as my primary and only display. If you need more performance than you're getting, I suggest you try it and see if it makes a difference. If you still get stuttering in the situation you describe, then you keep it as secondary.

Pretty cool program. I'd suggest having a check box on overwriting the control bindings. I lost all my bindings, and I have a full HOTAS that isn't an X52Pro.

Also, I thought Elite now pulled the IPD from the Oculus Config Utility. It may not matter then, but it would be nice to have the input for IPD in mm (and stated as so in the window), then convert to meters internally.

Sorry that you lost your bindings, I know that's a hassle to set up again. But EDDS does not overwrite any control bindings. All it does is edit the StartPreset.start file in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings. This only contains the name of the current bindings profile. Your bindings file should still be in the same folder. But I can certainly include a check box to prevent EDDS from changing the name of the profile, as I can see how this might throw people off.

I don't think the ED IPD-value matters either, but as long as it's there I wanted to include it. Good suggestion about the IPD input. I'll change that in the next update.

Nice app. I like it. Would be great if you could tailor the graphics settings some more for OR or regular screen such as blur/bloom off, SSAO off etc. I tend to run it all maxed out on the screen, but pinch the graphics settings a bit when rifting in order to get that silky smoothness it needs.

I was thinking about including all of the gfx settings. I'll do it if I find the time.

Can you update this for HORIZONS? Many thanks.

I have sorted the colours but I like being able to see on the monitor what's in the VR goggles.

The reason it doesn't work is because Horizons is beta. EDDS will only edit files in your main game install folder. I may have to update EDDS eventually, but I will not do it until Horizons is out of beta.

In the meantime, you can follow the instructions in this thread: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=43396. Just make sure you edit AppConfig.xml in your beta folder.

Many thanks Smack332. Horizons is now out of Beta so will re-installing your original App work now, the existing App I use doesn't appear to work with Horizons?

Hi, I have sorted it all and it's all working but I have had to change the actual file details as described further up this link (AppConfig File), but this has worked, I now have a mirrored image on my second monitor and nice green HUD colours also from changing the file rather than using the App you designed, thanks for your help once again Smack332.
Have a good Christmas!
