This is a far more interesting conspiracy theory than flat earth or Luna landings!

Better late than never,now the event has really started, and all player get a chance to decide Salome's fate, now she is safely out of the hands of the writer
Sure it wont be official lore, and even fan-fiction may cause some IP right issues... But in game, where she is part of the story, we can have our story and reject the galnet 'fake' feed
What happens is a majority of lore following players in the game decided she is alive, write their stories, based on the escape pod... Will Fdev just say...No, that not what happens! lolz
maybe she will change her name again... 'Salome the white' and more events run by players start to happen... oh the can of worms, i'm hungry!

Yep. Potter Dropped the ball. That pod had to be "In game" destroyed (we know you can't really kill a player), but if it had been flown into a sun or the likes, then it would have been an end everyone could have accepted, but the pod is not (in-game) lost/gone/destroyed. So in my role-play mind she's got better than a 50/50 chance to still be alive...and the players write the end, not the author.
I hope one of CoR have a new account, and the pod is in a sidey somewhere obscure, unknown to all except CoR.
The game is not over.
This is better than any blatantly obvious speech she could have made. It's a SUPERB twist. I'm a pc player, I wholly accept xbox outcome. 07

Drew has now stated about 4 times that Salome is dead - he reiterated it yesterday on the Rift thread at least twice, and he said "no ambiguity - she is dead". Any other thing happening would mean even more conspiracy theories since it was stated before the event that any major character who was killed during the event would be dead.
Now it could be that an excape pod was picked up indeed. However, you are making some assumptions as follows:
1) Salome was in the escape pod and was alone on her ship.
2) The person in the escape pod was alive.
3) Even if the person in the escape pod was alive, they are still alive now.

Events are swinging in to Role-play areas... the pew pew, sim part cant fight that.
Drew put his mysteries in the game, his choice, he had the event, his choice... not his choice if we take over the story in game... he has no priority over other writer when it comes to game play RP, just because hes an official ED author.
Drew said, he hopes other writers get the chance to write official Elite lore, well this is close enough.
Evidence is now in the hands of the story tellers, and that video opens the door... So what evidence, lots, just hasn't been written yet

"IF YOU WANT SOMEONE DEAD - DESTROY THEIR ESCAPE POD"
If you fail to do so - they will STILL BE ALIVE

I agree with all the above, but I still say it's a great twist, and I'm role playing that it might be her, simply because it's more fun that way. We screamed for "content", we screamed for more "interaction", well now we have our very own plot twist. Yep everyone who was in charge says she's dead, but we have a different version being posted "Is it her?", "Is that pod cannon?", "How do we get back to stations after ship destruction?".
To me this ending (as I have stated) is far better than any other ending. With a bit of luck this is she/isn't she will run and run with the player base 50/50 on the matter. I wanted the Exodus files Raan Corsen had, nothing has been mentioned of those. Salome was just a mouthpiece I have no investment in her, but I do like this twist for all those that supported her, it keeps them involved. (And pops a certain griefers bubble too).
Let's role with the Xbox story, let's see where it goes.
So Drew is writing a book for Elite. He decided to do something different and hold a community event where the outcome of HIS book is decided.

OK I get it, Boromir never died, he was the hero in LOTR and was crowned King.

no, its because he 'loaded the dice' and played the community... so if the community wish to, they cant take his charicter and have an alt story line, that could be more official (in terms of fans) that his book
but that experiment is flawed.. he amused the cat was not conscious (old idea, no longer agreed apon) and unable to take measurement ,. all about collapsing the wave function by measuring...but she would be unconscious, so it works
