Elite Dangerous for DX9 GPU's

What with trying to drum up sales why not release ED for DX9 GPU's maybe with lower settings etc, it would bring a whole new level of computers into the ED universe and allow loads of extra people to enjoy ED.

Coupled with nostalgia mode would be a kick butt game for everyone :)

DX9 was released back in 2002 and was depreciated by microsoft in early 2015. Time to get a better PC ;)

where did they say they deprecated it, a quick trawl of google hasnt chucked up the usuals. I dont deny it probably is well past due but there is nothing about it on the microsoft sites I visited.

I'd say that this is not possible both from technical and practical point of view. From the technical point of view graphic technology used for ED most probably would not allow this. From the practical point of view the first GPU supporting DX10 was GTX8800, which was released in Fall 2005, i.e. almost 10 years ago. GTX 260 listed in minimal requirements is more powerful than GTX8800. As well as there are quite a lot of GPUs supporting DX10 that does not cost much, and provide playable performance.
