There is a different in running missing here and there for credits and materials. Compared to grinding against another players faction for 2 months.
Major difference here. Again, a lot of people speaking out of turn here. Wonder why that is?
I’m sure you’ve seen this before:
1) There is no such thing as a “players faction.” They’re
all NPC factions, even the player named ones.
2) Stellar Forge named factions outnumber player named factions by about 98:1.
3) Roughly 20% of the largest factions are Stellar Forge named factions. This number starts growing rapidly outside the top 100 factions, until the reverse is true outside the top 200 factions. Of all the multi-system “empires” out there, player named factions consist of only a sixth of them. A faction can only expand into a new system due to player activity.
4) Nearly
half of all player named factions don’t control their own home system.
5) Manipulating the BGS is done for other purposes besides pushing a
particular faction into controlling a system. These include, but are not necessarily limited to: influencing a faction’s state, tailoring a system to generate the types of missions a player enjoys,
removing a faction from power, and/or tailoring a system to be unattractive to
other players.
6) If you’re
personally grinding influence, you’re probably doing something wrong.
7) If you’re trying to advance a faction via PvP, you’re
definitely doing something wrong.
The bottom line is that player named faction vs player named faction competition represents a tiny proportion of all BGS play, and a vast majority of all BGS play is done
unopposed by any knowing player. But every single player who deliberately manipulates the BGS, for whatever reason, needs to do so via the movement of PvE tokens, because that’s the rules of the game we
all agreed to when we started playing this game.
If you want to play a game with others, it’s important to understand the rules of the game first. If you go to a football game, and start playing
American football, don’t be surprised if the other players don’t want to play with you. Also, don’t be surprised if the rugby players laugh at you.
