Elite Dangerous: FSD Reward Issues [reModifications & Experimentals] Follow Up.

Why are people upset? Well the grind in this game for eng mats, suit/wep mats, etc etc is STEEP GRIND LOOPS. With CGs they are an event. Many have different activities to complete. AND the big AND they usually have a reward the makes the grind easier. One time event to get good thing. the 5A FSD is and epic cool tool... WITH A STEEP grind to get but is still better and more reliable the the normal grind... Players want a 3A 4A 6A of the same thing... they thought they were getting it. FDEV did not clarify the situation and the end items is sub par compaired to the 5A... Why the change? Why let the community think they were getting the same thing... and then only vaguely hit that all of those that missed out on the CG would be able to get it in the future... most likely with MORE grinding....

My personal message that I have posting on the Engineering feed back and Twitter... WE DON"T PLAY THE GAME FOR THE GRIND.. We play the game for the things AFTER the grind. Exploration, Thorgoids, space trucking, PVP, Piracy, CZ... all activities we do AFTER the grind.

Please please understand that we don't like or want to grind we want to do the stuff after and we would love if you put more content into the after the grind things.

I also used to work within the dev team in production, I come from the team everyone talks about, I'm not a separate entity to them or Frontier so when you all address any of those sectors - you are addressing me, so I will step up on some comments sometimes, just to help with clarity.

The developers are some of my closest friends and I respect them massively as colleagues. They care too. We've got a lot to work on with some things, absolutely, you're all very right in many ways, but I will say that a lot of people behind this curtain care - we'll just continue to push through for you all on hard hitting issues that arise.
First I want to say once again how much I appreciate recent improvements regarding communication with the players here in the form.

Second, I for one do NOT question the integrity, dedication, or how much FD staff cares about any of the issues under discussion.

What I do question is if there are sufficient management structures, discipline, quality control, and guidelines in place to elevate the quality of new code being put into the game. Something is clearly lacking, but I would never imply or assign the responsibility for that at Frontier to any group or individual(s). That is clearly FD's responsibility and I think they should take a hard look at that.

As always, my remarks are intended to encourage improvement. I sincerely think it is needed.

I can absolutely confirm from all sides that:
Any future improvements made to in game UI clarification of the inability to not further modify/add experimentals to pre-modified module rewards, will not negate any previous modifications/added experimentals you have to currently owned reward modules already acquired.

To be double clear,
you will not be able to add experimentals on the new CG FSD reward from the latest CG.

Apologies if this has been asked/answered elsewhere in this thread or the prior one, but will newly purchased 5A FSDs available from tech brokers continue to be modified with experimentals after this change is rolled out, or will newly purchased double-engineered FSDs behave like the new 3A, 4A, and 6A CG reward FSDs?

Tell you what, I've already voiced my displeasure over this decision/mistake/whatver's causing it. And I'm as @#$@#ed off as the next Cmdr.

I dunno if any of you are parents, but from experience - when my little girl asks for something nicely, I tend to respond to her nicely. And if its something in my power to give her, I'll likely say yes, but she'll have to wait a bit and be patient. Meanwhile, if she demands something, or throws a massive tantrum, I tend to tune her out completely. I'll let a little bit of snark go, but there are most certainly limits.

Constantly tagging Sally to have a go at her colleagues and friends, tossing insults about like confetti at a wedding, and the incessant all-round slagging people working on this off isn't a great look on some of you. Understand the frustration, but my six year old has better social skills than some on here.
I think Sally went out for more gin at about half ten and hasn't been seen since. They'll probably find the poor girl wandering the streets of Cambridge 'in a distressed state' wearing one shoe.

I disagree. I believe that FDev is as hard working and caring as they say they are. I would just appreciate it if they could course-correct this issue.
The idea some have seems to be that the entire team of developers are actually some sort of nefarious evil psychopaths who deliberately break things just to upset them. As if the world revolves around them and their own needs.

In reality, there's probably organizational dysfunction - which exists to an extent in EVERY workplace - that causes things to fall through cracks or get missed. Meanwhile they have a customer base screaming for fixes immediately, they get rushed out with issues, and the place erupts calling them inept and uncaring. They take their time to fix things properly, the place erupts calling them inept and caring from people who preface everything with "I've worked in the industry since I was five" or "I've played video games my whole life" as some sort of justification for being a ****.

Hiding to nothing.

Then you have the Community team, the ones who actually have to come out and face the music, they either get slaughtered as well, or get tagged to infinity (and then get called worse than rotten for not replying to every single tag, quote, or PM)

Do they need to sort the issue(s)? Too right they do. Do they deserve the utter toxicity from some members of the "community"? No. No they don't.

This has been quite the read so far! Never thought an experimental effect on a module (or lack thereof) would generate 23 pages. I get the frustration though. Ok, carry on, the goats are in garden again, I better go deal with that.
