My opinion:I disagree with that.
C'mon. I wouldn't call non SCO ships useless. We were perfectly content with them for over 10 years now. Especially since every old ship can be fitted with an SCO drive. Why don't the developers upgrade the old ships to FSD SСO and sell those versions too for ARXs at first? It's pathetic to see a bunch of old ships in the game and already useless![]()
SCO gets to be pretty 'can't live without' in a hurry. I find my patience for even a few KLS is greatly reduced and especially the climb out of wells. However even the non-SCO native ships can handle that with the possible exception of the T9 who's SCO capacity seems to be exhausted in 2 hummingbird wing-beats.C'mon. No one is forcing anyone to upgrade their old ship for ARX, if YOU are happy with what you have, why do it?C'mon. I wouldn't call non SCO ships useless. We were perfectly content with them for over 10 years now. Especially since every old ship can be fitted with an SCO drive.Unlike (-1)
I've not seen this happening before, but I saw it today!Fixed instances of two beacons deploying at the Beacon Deployment Site
I actually like the old ships with SCO. It forces you to apply skill to fly it properly. No one is forcing anyone to upgrade their old ship for ARX, if YOU are happy with what you have, why do it?
I wrote this for those who would be interested. Additional game maintenance for minimal development time.
Just more and more ships with SCO support and people will stop flying old ships at all, as there will be many new analogs already with SCO support.
I'll put +1, for the fact that I'm always in favor of ideas that are interesting to other people and not for myself.
The t9 sco holds up remarkably well for very long distances, if you have a heat sink launcher fitted. Tap the sco, and when you hit 95%+ heat, pop a heat sink. You can get surprisingly far, and it's so cheap and easy to restock your heat sinks. even 50k ls hops aren't bad at all, provided you remember to refuel.SCO gets to be pretty 'can't live without' in a hurry. This ship is kind of a mess to me. It has no heat capacity. It is mass-locked by a floating box-wrench. The cockpit is a little odd for a ship this size and it's lacking in shield it feels like to me in comparison to a Py MK 1. It's worth it to me over the Python just to have something that has the straight line speed advantage and the extra hardpoint for hounds but that mass locak factor needs to be addressed.
I've heard this opinion, some increase the difficulty of the game for themselves using bad and weak ships.I actually like the old ships with SCO. It forces you to apply skill to fly it properly.
Ships with SCO enhancement are kind of boring.
it uses more fuel than a clipper does in SCO and hits 100% heat in 4 seconds it does not hold up at all.The t9 sco holds up remarkably well for very long distances, if you have a heat sink launcher fitted. Alas I do not belong to such, I like to fly on the best and fully engineered ships, for me the point of the game to increase their progress and go to the best.
There's a lot of nothing between the areas once you've filled your codex for a region you're not missing much of anything interesting. You can always use less than max range when you're where you want to be.Your mention of using the fastest and bestest reminds me of those "explorers" using 90Ly jump ships to "explore" the Galaxy, all the while 90Ly jumping over most of the interesting things to explore.
To each his own I guess..
I was under the impression that the Codex did not contain everything that could be discovered and have always wondered about only exploring interesting things which feels more sightseeing* than exploring. There's a lot of nothing between the areas once you've filled your codex for a region you're not missing much of anything interesting. By this stage it more or less does and we've more or less figured out the rules for basically everything. There are undiscovered things but your blind chance is just as good doing 90ly jumps as 2ly jumps since there's more galaxy than you can even visit and you'll visit just as many systems as you want either way. If you're working on some actual concept for where to find the stuff. 90ly is clearly advantageous as it gets you to each idea faster.I was under the impression that the Codex did not contain everything that could be discovered and have always wondered about only exploring interesting things which feels more sightseeing* than exploring.

I think there's a different logic here. If your jump max is 90 you can choose how much to jump from 1...90.That's it! Raxxla is only 1ly away from anywhere!
Hello Paul, please can you help me with my dead coriolis? 3 weeks plus and no commodities, shipyard, outfitting etc. How can I make it work? I can't build anything more around the plant it oribits, slots are full and planet not landable. If it need Installations to support it I have those in System, so it will need to reply on System wide influence not local. What can I do ?From the Feedback thread:
Hi folks,
We are aware that there were some issues with facilities and System Colonisation economics during the weekend. This was an error and not an intentional change and has been reverted. We are committed to looking at improvements and potential changes to the way facilities and the economy works in regards to System Colonisation, as well as how we can improve documentation. Where possible we will endeavor to share economic and facility changes in update notes.
We thank you for your continued patience and feedback during the System Colonisation beta.
No offense, but if that's the case then you don't know how to build ships.According to EDSY, the Corsair runs far too hot for any practical use I might think of.
Maybe some imperial duke or other decided to use the Courier's heat pumps and radiators.
