Patch Notes Update Elite Dangerous: Horizons update 2.01.02

I didn't really mind the better NPCs when in my Python. Didn't last 2 secs in a Cobra III though which was fully A rated.
NPCs were too easy before so hopefully this will hit the middle ground somewhere.
Another Python took out my A rated Python in about 7 or so shots. It destroyed (cooked) my shields in the first 3 shots.
3M+ rebuy plus an outstanding 1.4M CR fine cost me around 5M in less than 10 seconds. It only happened once.

I really enjoyed Elite/deadly NPCs in pre-Patch version - its was really interesting to fight Deadly/Elite Condas and other ships, that are coming after you if you take Salvage or transport missions...

I hope its not nerfed for players who farmed Deadly/Elite ranks and now is not able to handle some challenge with new AI...

Being high ranked will I still get mostly matched with high ranked npcs? would be very dissapointing if not.

Release notes are indicating a reduction in high level AI. So i guess this is "rare and meaningful" rather than "a risk".

I am hopeful what elite and dangerous AI remain, aren't also now vegetables. It's a balance but frontier are removing a lot of AI risk.

Did that. I stacked loads of missions that said "Hostile ships may be sent against you" in big red letters all high ranked trade and salvage. No dice. Even the black box missions that are guaranteed to spawn NPCs at the crash site only gave me 4-wings of small piddly mid rank ships. Couldn't even kill my tubby 200 MJ shield Asp.

btw, I am 81% dangerous. So I am starting to wonder if NPC strength is based on the strength and build of my ship?

Yes I have noticed the same thing. Flying in my ASP I get smaller and lower ranked NPC's. Flying in my Python, Anaconda or Corvette, pretty much everything I encounter is Elite.

It's the same thing, Horizions is the same given to the entire Season of expansions/DLC/updates. 2.0 was Planetary Landings, 2.1 was Engineers, 2.2 will be Fighters.... etc

Yikes... I hope I don't get that, I'm not really rolling in dough. That would hurt me.
the fines were typically slightly more than the mission payout, e.g. a 2.1 mil mission fine was 2.2 mil.

i have a nice bank account and it still hurt - and i do everything i can to complete every mission i start, so being forced to flunk one does not sit very well at all, from a cmdr reputation/reliability viewpoint.

Brilliant, lost my Corvette, all my cash , girlfriend and dog, still hanging in there. thank goodness the Lads are fixing it.
Still can't believe the graphics in 2.1, really good job.......

- Fix target spawn times and allow new destination delivery missions to work

Does this include a fix for those delivery missions where you get an update saying if you can deliver it in the next X minutes, you'll get a bonus (where X is almost always zero)?

That is so annoying, and yet matches my experience going all the way back to 1.4. I want to fight big impossible ships in my little fast ships too. That is half the fun of the game imo. If they only spawn for other giant ships, then I will never see them I guess. I hate flying big ships. But I love flying against them.

Anyway, will have to test with all the in game mechanics (carrying huge bounties, high ranked combat missions, power play, HAZ RES, CZs, etc).

NPCs
- Fix NPCs ending up with overpowered hybrid weapons
- Stop NPCs deciding to attack if they only attack opposing powers and the player and AI powers are aligned to the same superpower
- Slight rebalance of the ambient AI rank chances, should see slightly less of the top end and more of the low/mid range
- Smooth out the mission-spawned USS AI levels so that high ranks are rarer and only elite missions hit the top end ai (though deadly can get close)

Thank you!
