Ah many thanks!
Yes, fairly sure it was v3 that said beta.
I'll remove & install the latest version!

Being the current developer of EDHM (the mod), I can answer questions directly related to EDHM and give some basic information about EDHM-UI (the UI configuration program for EDHM) but unfortunately I rarely have the answers regarding problems with the UI program, for that I advise you to contact Blue Mystic, the UI program developer, either on the EDHM & EDHM-UI Discord, or directly on the EDHM-UI Github. My attempt at installing v3 failed with a windows error, saying the installation package could not be opened.
I'm getting the same error, did you manage to fix it?My attempt at installing v3 failed with a windows error, saying the installation package could not be opened.
a) I asked Blue Mystic, the EDHM-UI dev: that's Chromium cosplaying as an Squirrel, more details: https://www.electronforge.io/config/makers/squirrel.windowsDeleted the original install folder, download the most recent & installed, still didnt load shortcuts but Ive done that manually.
a) what's the Squirrel.exe in the install folder?
b) Ive turned off Space Dust but am still getting some "snow" in SC as well as the yellow SC speed bars-can I turn off that "snow"?
As well as disabling the top level Space Dust slider, Ive also set brightness and length for both normal and SC to zero but still getting it. Do I have to reboot the game to take effect?
c) is there a way to turn off the stars twinkling? shouldn't happen in space!!
Space Dust
is for normal flight, and for Supercruise, there's Supercruise Snow
just below.Custom Color
for the Supercruise Snow Mode
option and reduce Supercruise Snow Brightness
to zero.F11
ingame. When this error occurs, Blue Mystic asks you to download the installer directly instead of attempting to install via the EDHM-UI update feature.I'm getting the same error, did you manage to fix it?
edhm-ui-v3-windows-x64.exe
, which is available from this page: https://github.com/BlueMystical/EDHM_UI/releasesI got the exe from here and ran it "repair", https://github.com/BlueMystical/EDHM_UI/releases
When I click finish at the end of the wizard, is anything meant to happen?
I think your problem stems from a misconfiguration of the game directory in EDHM-UI.Sorry, I can't help and have a similar error (maybe unrelated) as I can't get any profiles to work in the new EDHM.
I apple my Evolution profile, press F11 and nothing happens at all. I've restarted EDHM and Elite many times and restarted my PC.
Is there a way to check if F11 is set correctly for EDHM or any other tips please?
EliteDangerous64.exe
file, for example, C:\Program Files\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Elite Dangerous\Products\elite-dangerous-odyssey-64
.EDLaunch.exe
is located.F11
key is directly related to EDHM and has no connection to EDHM-UI, so there's little chance there's a problem with this key, especially if it was working before.F11
is used to reload the settings contained in the EDHM files. When applying a theme with EDHM-UI, the program modifies the EDHM files, so if you apply a theme with EDHM-UI and restart the game, the theme will still be changed ingame, even without pressing F11
.F11
:F11
-> If nothing happens, restart the game -> If the theme is applied after restarting the game, then there's a problem with F11
, otherwise there's a problem with EDHM-UIDidn't bother. V2 is working well enough for the bits I use, so I'm waiting for the installer to be fixed properly.I'm getting the same error, did you manage to fix it?
Ah, thank you for you detailed reply. I'm sure other CMDRs may find it helpful in future. Yes, I'd incorrectly set it to the ED Launch folder. I've updated it and the new EDHM is working. Massive thank you to you and the team for all your great work over the years o7I think your problem stems from a misconfiguration of the game directory in EDHM-UI.
The correct directory should contain theEliteDangerous64.exe
file, for example,C:\Program Files\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Elite Dangerous\Products\elite-dangerous-odyssey-64
.
This should not be confused with the Frontier Launcher directory whereEDLaunch.exe
is located.
If you want to wait a little longer before upgrading to v3, you can continue using v2 while manually installing the latest version of EDHM.Didn't bother. V2 is working well enough for the bits I use, so I'm waiting for the installer to be fixed properly.
I have v2.2.64 , so will wait even longer. If you want to wait a little longer before upgrading to v3, you can continue using v2 while manually installing the latest version of EDHM.
This will work as long as there are no additions or changes to the EDHM options that require a UI modification.
If you want to try this, you must have the latest (or second-to-latest) version of EDHM-UI v2 installed (v2.2.66 or v2.2.67), close the game and EDHM-UI, and follow the instructions for manually installing EDHM: https://github.com/psychicEgg/EDHM/tree/main/Odyssey#install-edhm-without-edhm_ui (in summary: extract the files to the game directory, accept the overwrite)
Then open the game and EDHM-UI, apply a theme (or use the EDHM-UI history to reapply your last settings).
As long as there are no new options or a major change in an existing option, this will work since EDHM-UI is used to write values into EDHM files and if there are no changes in the options, the UI knows where and how to put those values.
