Frontier Games unveiled a brand new game at Gamescom, its an XBOX ONE exclusive.

So they are splitting focus at the show on Elite: Dangerous and their new unveiling ScreamRide...
(News post at Gameplanet with video linked above)

This ones good, a video of twitch streamer Zimtok5 trying ED on the Rift DK2 for the first time, he gets so emotional he tears up around the 17 minute mark, great to watch. :)

Note:- I've added this to this 'In the media' thread because he originally posted about it on reddit, here:

Tears over DK2 + Elite, a total surprise

:D

Its always interesting to see the reaction of new people to the game. :) I think I'm gonna have to bite my facebook lip and get a Rift when they release the first one.

That post has been corrected to say that they are showing EVE: Valkyrie, much more likely since they are partnered with those guys.
Aww, never mind.

There's a later post by an Oculus bod there though:
FYI, we are showing Lucky's Tale, Eve: Valkyie, SuperHOT, and World of Diving. We aren't able to show Elite: Dangerous as we had to submit content for USK rating quite some time ago.
So it looks like they wanted to use it?

They certainly seemed pretty stoked about it when they came round our E3 booth on the final day. It must've been a last-minute thing because I ended up hosting Palmer Luckey as well (didn't realize at the time); if they had made an appointment, he would have seen David.

That sounds a bit strange. Maybe I am lost in translation and I realise is not up to you to have the answer but... Does he mean that they actually submitted long time ago but got no response yet?

How can they not have approval when the full game is being showcased anyways by FDEV?

USK = German age classification ratings.

I suppose anything they wanted to use had to have an official rating before they were allowed, and whichever ED build it was wasn't submitted and passed in time?

So EVE Valkyrie, an unreleased tech demo, has an USK rating already? And they had to get that for all the games they demoed the Rift with?

Do they also have a USK rating for the desk and lamp calibration scene?

So this is why FDev only has a press both!
No USK rating yet, so no public showcase.
I feel very protected by the law here, even from my own choices ;)

Posted in general already, but should probably be in this thread too:

E: D at Gamescom 2014, with DBOBE.

Game is 'Gamescom 2014' build. New outfitting screen (inc. skins), updated Aulin station model, new galaxy map functionality, Viper jumping 7 lyrs (more than now?), and a new USS scenario.

I feel a bit underwhelmed with the ED representation so far tbh... unless I have missed something?

Gamescon is mainly for the press. And for people who are new to ED.

Beta 1 was only couple of weeks ago, and i'm guessing there was not a lot of time between to get many new features gameready. I don't think they want to show features that are not fully ready to be shown.
