Elite Dangerous is Done For

Okay, so here's the facts. Frontier is losing large portions of their community by the day. Their forums aren't a place to have "discussion" anymore, it's a place for complaining.

Elite is currently a grind hell that is mind numbing boring and is just not what a game should be.

There are arriving titles like No Man's Sky, Star Citizen etc that appear they will blow them out of the water. Star Citizen is far deeper and contains much more content even in its early stages.

So what's your guys opinion, do you think Ed has a chance in the same pond as these other titles? Personally, I'm calling it an officially dead game within a litte over a year.

I think I've seen more of these threads than I can shake a Pantaa Prayer Stick at, and the game's still ticking. The only thing that'll convince me the game's dead is an official announcement from Frontier.

I can't wait till those titles get the same qq-ers who feel entitled to everything within their 5 minutes game time.

Makes me wonder though, will their forums be flooded with "I'm going back to Elite Dangerous if you don't fix/add X"? That would be quite the irony.

Ah, another prediction of "doom and gloom". Also, poster doesn't seem to appreciate the irony of him bemoaning how the forums have become a "place to complain", only to go on & make a lengthy and mostly unfounded complaint himself.

The reality people such as yourself still refuse to accept is that the so-called "grind" you encounter has NOTHING to do with the game mechanics, & everything to do with your sad & pathetic need for INSTANT GRATIFICATION. If you don't want a grind, then don't. Just play the game, do the things you find entertaining, & you will be surprised how quickly and easily the stuff you currently *think* you need will fall into your lap.

Oh, & got to love your reference to No Man's Sky (delayed AGAIN) & Star Citizen (still in Alpha). How do you know these games are so much better than Elite: Dangerous when they aren't even out in a fully playable format yet? How do you know that your desperate desire for INSTANT GRATIFICATION won't make these two titles feel "grindy" to you?

Thats been done with practically every update. Statistically every single one of those predictions has a zero% accuracy rating.

Pointing a finger at any of the games that have yet to be released and saying "Look a Wolf! This will eat ED" is IMO a waste of time.

I'm definitely down for Star Citizen if the release game isn't a pay to win money grabby affair like it currently is.

Will be sad to leave all my progress behind in Elite, but greener pastures and all that.

After 2000+ hours... I'm losing interest in ED, so I have to agree with OP.

Having said that... I'm a premium beta and I still think ED was a good investment.

I don't grind and I am not bored. Pro tip: Stop grinding.

I am not interested in NMS, but I'll give SC definetly a try in 5 years. If I like it I'll be playing two space games. Just like I play more than one FPS, more than one RTS and more than one racing game.
