AI being banned has been discussed and the cap on planet shattering weapons tech too. Well, Dune did it and also some of the recent singularity stuff by Ken MCleod etc (Even Hawking)

I really would love this universe building lore to be presented within game as lore. It would mitigate some of the naysaying. I mean Warhammer has space orks and ginormous ships and it all makes internally logical sense.

Maybe the GalNet news feed could run some future HBO documentary on the history of the universe for those not reading the novels. The DDF(?) did say something about AI being banned?
Is the Pilots Federation an almost chivalric order with very specific laws that stop certain activities?

Yeah...please get that stuff in game in a meaningful way.

Sorry for the slight necro, but I really think FD needs to do some more lore building. Just having books isn't enough.

Small stories in-game or a few youtube videos would do the job.

Right now it just feels like we're all flying in a "galaxy trade simulator" that is pretty lifeless.
