Elite Dangerous: Known Issues 17/12/2021

Menacing music

The forum is an irradiated wasteland.
Within it lies a game section.
Outside Elite Dangerous, a desert. A cursed Planet Zoo.
Inside Elite, a cursed section, stretching from News and Bulletins to Lore and Roleplay.
An unbroken concrete landscape. 800 forumites living in the ruins of the old threads and the mega structures of the new.
Mega blocks. Mega memes. Mega Thread One.
Convulsing.
Choking.
Breaking under its own weight.
Commanders in fear of the Fer de Lance. The gun. The wing.
Only one thing fighting for order in the chaos: the men and women of the Hall of Frontier.
Juries.
Executioners.
Community managers.

SRV engine revs

Merry Christmas to all at Frontier. I know it has been a let us say challenging year for Elite. But I wish you all the best

I guess I will pause grinding combat ranks for a while...
  • Hostile ships can appear incorrectly (as non hostile) on the radar. Which breaks both fighters and turrets for the most part.

What is the FDevs position on the following unresolved issues on EDH on PSs:

Hatch Breakers not working - tried them on a Ghost Ship and the HB stayed red (or am I doing something wrong?)
Facilities available at bases in System Map is blank - the Disabled Facilities shows up fine
Codex: Session Logs still unaccessable
Codex: Archive still not accessable

Any update on progress will be most appreciated!

Don't study medicine.
It's okay, all of the bugs are in perfect balance. It's called the Three Stooges Syndrome.

Undocumented feature until it's fixed ;)

Greetings Commanders,

Thanks to all your feedback and comments, our developers worked hard to bring you new updates to Odyssey and Horizons on Thursday which resolved a number of critical issues such as multi limpets being too heavy and resolving an issue where biological scanning was not working as intended.

With just a few days left until the Holiday season the updates this week will be the last updates of 2021.

We are aware that there are still some outstanding issues following the recent updates:

Ongoing issues around fire groups
  • Empty fire groups surrounded by populated fire groups do not automatically clear
  • Some Commanders are still unable to edit fire groups that do not contain a weapon in Horizons
  • Other firegroups issues - we are investigating a number of reports - please continue to use issue tracker to let us know which issues are affecting you.
Other known issues
  • Commanders are unable to use the Profile Analyser to clone the profile of a deceased NPCs
  • Hostile ships can appear incorrectly (as non hostile) on the radar
We want you to know that our developers are aware of these issues, and the others that have been reported via our Issue Tracker. We will be looking to provide fixes to these for Update 10 which will be available in January 2022.

Thank you all for your support and feedback this year. We look forward to bringing you more in the new year!
There one issue I wish to track... That's Odyssey on console. How come Fdev decided it was entirely OK to just stop talking about it?

Also, issue tracker would work better if Fdev actually played their own game. 😉

Sorry to sound off nasty, but waiting until January for potential core content fixes just begs for more people to leave by January. Why does Frontier keep releasing updates that break core content for people, leaving them having to wait just for the restoration of core functionality? It is happening time and time again with Elite from the company, sadly. I mean, 2 patches recently, and this one still notes that some of the issues apparently addressed by them are in fact still ongoing?

No you're not. You're the one running your keyboard son, it's not like it just developed a mind of it's own and you're sitting there all embarrassed going 'wow Mr Logitech, that was really rude of you!'

They're entitled to take a break - if it really bothers you so much, why not do the same.
I'm continually amazed to learn that people are unaware that there are other things to do than play computer games, or even if that's all they want to do, there are more than one out there.

I'm personally a bit cheesed that the radar bug hasn't been sorted out, I was really starting to get back into combat again and need to snag combat bonds in CZs to unlock the last couple of engineers and can't really do it with that thing lurking, but instead I'll mess around with my PS4, watch some of the plethora of good stuff coming out on the telly (Witcher! Book of Boba Fett! Cobra Kai! Matrix 4! The footba... well probably not that one, the way things are going...) spend some time with the family, ride my bike, walk the pup...

I'm disappointed that the targeting bug hasn't been fixed as I was hoping for a few mission > CNB > mission etc. but presumably it'll be ok in horizons.
If not it's getting my alt to colonia or playing subnautica.

Hello everyone!

I'm here to say I'm pleased FDev fixed the bio scanner so I can go back to harassing flora.
Yesterday I fitted a new shiny Vulture too, and I'm going to try out some combat for the first time.
Not sure about this fuss about yellow lights not turning red on radar, but since the ship says I'm "ludicrously clueless" I'm sure it won't make a big difference.
Anyway, I put festive lights back on the cockpit: some of them still turn red, so it's not that bad after all.
What could go wrong?

Also: need more booze.
