Elite Dangerous | New Survey Ship Kit!

While the corvette doesn't fit thematically or in a gameplay sense on the Corvette -- at a quick glance the kit looks really good on all the big ships and probably best on the Corvette so it can be forgiven.
Having it on a 'Vette actually makes sense if you fit for SIGINT, electronic warfare, command and control duties etc. For example a 'Vette equipped with xeno scanners, DSS, wake scanner, limpets and other goodies sent to recon mission into thargoid controlled systems comes to mind.

Definitely will be taking a look at the DBX. I agree that it is puzzling that these aren't made for all the ships that could feasibly have them, I have to agree that the radar dish would really work on the Kraits! Is Arf meddling again? :)

Zacks twin huge fists of justice don't do science, but then the roles of ships have been long forgotten.

Plus, what a missed opportunity for the Federations Beefy Battle Boi to get a real dish (twin retractable fists nonwithstanding)

Thanks Sally, it might seem like we're not being appreciative towards the design team, but the Krait phantom is quite literally the most popular explorer ship. Not having a ship kit for phantom, but the corvette got one is just... I dunno lol
I know right? I sometimes stand in awe scratching my head thinking, WTH were they thinking?

I really like those new kits ... personally I only wish to have such one also for Imperial clipper which I use the most in Thargoid occupied space. But some other may be interesting too eventhough already mentioned Phantom is a ship which I use very often for exploration trips.

I appreciate these new cosmetics and hope the community will take opportunity to support FDev where possible. If the player base wants fdev to be able to continue to work on the game, or even expand their efforts, it has to be financially viable for them to do so - they have investors, creditors and shareholders just like any other plc

Indeed.

But on the flip side of the coin, FDev should be listening to the what the player base wants and act accordingly *

* where possible/viable **

** and I'm sure they already are ***

*** where possible/viable

its cynical to assume they arent very much aware of what the player base would like. They dont have unlimited resources and software dev isnt simple. They're probably doing the best they are able to with the resources available - they want Elite to be the best it can be just as much as we do

the dea is good.... but it would be interesting to have these kits also interact with the game....

Maybe adding dedicated missions, or simplifying what a normal ship doesn't have as kits.

It'll do well with the 2x class 2 mod shards in the class 4 hardpoints :D

This would be essentially pay to win. Which was said a long ago would not happen, and that everything you can buy with real world money would be strictly cosmetic.
