I have a chevy malibu im rather fond of, leather bucket seats, sunroof and power everything. I like it a good deal it suits me
Retro-gaming is far bigger than VR.OMG. So the graphics, how you view the game is irrelevant? I mean it's only about the game play.

Funnily enough I did load it up the other day on my PC. I thought it a better game than First Encounters, which I abandoned when the Wing Commander series came out. It has severe limitations in game play compared to ED. Single player, limited choices of activities, no planetary landings etc. It does illustrate that for me the game play is the thing. A game can have the suckiest graphics and still be totally immersive. Conversely a game can have amazing graphics, like Star Citizen, but if the game play sucks I get bored very quickly. But you don't play the original any more? No, I suspect you have moved on.
Yeh and I have an Octavia VRS, that's good too, but if I could afford the Mclaren and could afford to run it the poor little Skoda would be retired. But how would you feel if someone said sorry can't use your Chevy thingy any more you have to use a reliant robin, I'm sure the novelty would wear off.I have a chevy malibu im rather fond of, leather bucket seats, sunroof and power everything. Very little. A friend of mine had one. Endless trouble with it and Mclaren‘s customer service was appalling. They make FDev look like paragons of virtue in comparison. Most people drive a Ford, so there's no point in a Mclaren?
Id probably buy an acuraYeh and I have an Octavia VRS, that's good too, but if I could afford the Mclaren and could afford to run it the poor little Skoda would be retired. I suspect you have never driven a Reliant Robin and therefore don’t know what you are talking about!Yeh and I have an Octavia VRS, that's good too, but if I could afford the Mclaren and could afford to run it the poor little Skoda would be retired. Is that the mr bean car?I suspect you have never driven a Reliant Robin and therefore don’t know what you are talking about!![]()
I agree, maybe, but when someone says the VR has no effect on gameplay and are talking from a point of total ignorance, well you know. The fact is I've known about ED for years, my mate played it, he tried to get me to play it. I had a look and frankly thought it was boring. Then I put on the headset and wow. Gameplay is more that you tilt the joystick left, ship goes left. It's a broad perspective on how you play/view the game. It's different and for me significantly better in VR.Funnily enough I did load it up the other day on my PC. I raced a souped up one back in the day, honest, I beat it, don't want one. And of course it's a car, wheel turns left, car goes left, same gameplay.I suspect you have never driven a Reliant Robin and therefore don’t know what you are talking about!![]()

It is, trust me the novely will wear off depsite how cute you might think it is, stick to your Chevy. Is that the mr bean car?
Boom, thank you for finally making my point. That is why VR needs to stay.that is because VR has no impact on the gameplayloops. mining in 2D works the same as in VR, or combat, or trading for that matter. being in VR or in 2D has no effect on the gameplay. only an effect on how you experience it.
If I could afford a Mclaren and it went wrong I'd jump in my Lambo for the day.Very little. A friend of mine had one. Endless trouble with it and Mclaren‘s customer service was appalling. They make FDev look like paragons of virtue in comparison.
No no no, no no no no no, and... no no no. That said those two picks are pretty much the difference between ED VR ard ED flat. Point nicely made

I was referring to the experience. The game is far more playable in VR, better scale, better sense of space, better sense of movement, better view, better better better. So you agree with the fact that the game is just as playable in 2D as in VR?
I was referring to the experience.
See above, you are now going into game design. Just take combat, the ability to look out of your window in "real" 3D and spot your enemies transforms the gameplay. And that's just one tiny thing. Oh and take mining, which is a bit of a boring activity but in VR, you are in front of this giant asteroid the scale is immense, look keft and another is spinning right next to you woah!! That's how I define gameplay, not stick left ship left, that's a very narrow view of game play.okay, but in your mind the game is not as playable in 2D as it is in VR? what would be the difference then? are the gameplayloops any different?
