I do like combat in this game and I am going to continue with combat but I also wanting to do more activities like exploration/trading (using ASP) etc. I was thinking of getting a better combat ship as well and I will consider the DiamondBack Explore for my next ship for combat. Thanks for your advice.I can see you're having fun. It reminds me of when I first started in the distant past.
I wouldn't have bought an Asp at this stage of the game. A DBX beats it for Road to Riches and a Vulture is streets ahead for combat; however, you can use use any ship for anything and still have fun. An Asp is a good exploration ship for Road to Riches planet scanning, but you really need a 6A or 5A fuel scoop, which costs 29 mil or 9 mil, while as a DBX works fine with a 4A one at only 3 mil, and it jumps further. If you want fastest progress, a T6 would have been my choice for mining platinum or Robigo sightseeing missions.
If you're going to carry on with combat, you must prioritise practicing your pip management until you don't need to think about it. I can see also that you're getting into the bad habit of leaving the throttle in the blue zone. I know throttle control is initially harder with KB and mouse, but you need to be a lot more active with it. The NPCs are programmed to mainly fly over your head and get you from behind. You can mitigate that by flying backwards and pitching up. If you fly forwards, you will get that endless circling that happened a lot in your vid.
The AspX is a great multi purpose ship and one of my dedicated pirate ships. Not sure if you plan on getting into power play but I recommend you slap 4 Cytoscramblers on the small hard points. It's like an off switch for NPC shields.I do like combat in this game and I am going to continue with combat but I also wanting to do more activities like exploration/trading (using ASP) etc. I was thinking of getting a better combat ship as well and I will consider the DiamondBack Explore for my next ship for combat. Thanks for your advice I will take that into consideration. The AspX is a great multi purpose ship and one of my dedicated pirate ships. Not sure if you plan on getting into power play but I recommend you slap 4 Cytoscramblers on the small hard points. It's like an off switch for NPC shields.
DBX is for exploration and planet scanning, not combat. For combat, the only logical choice for you is the Vulture. Asp is general purpose ship. General purpose ships always slow down your progress, but if you're not worried about doing things efficiently, you can do whatever you want in whatever ship. There's no correct way to play the game.I do like combat in this game and I am going to continue with combat fire but I also wanting to do more activities like exploration/trading (using ASP) etc. I was thinking of getting a better combat ship as well and I will consider the DiamondBack Explore for my next ship for combat. At your stage of the game you can make 30 mil per hour doing planet scanning using a DBX or Asp, 30 mil per hour initially doing Robigo sightseeing missions using a T6, then 100 mil per hour after the first few trips when you switch to a shieldless Python, or you can make about 30 mil per hour mining in a T6 that will go up to about 50 mil per hour using a Python, or you can get 30 to 100 mil per hour farming pirates with a Vulture, then Fer de Lance when you find a place that offers pirate massacre missions. On e you have enough money to buy an FDL for combat, DBX for a taxi and a Python for mining, you can concentrate on getting all the engineers unlocked, then the Guardian stuff, then you can do what you want.
