How long will the servers be down for?

There's no expected downtime associated with the hotfix but it's always wise to give the servers a few minutes to get back up to speed!

I knew it, I exited a couple of minutes ago and it black screened on exit, that always happens when a patch is due....at least it feels like it because it rarely happens other times!

Whenever I exit the main ED executable after a server downtime broadcast has been received (incl. but not limited to routine Thursday maintenance) , the game hangs with nonzero (sometimes moderately significant) CPU usage. Not exclusive to Ody, and is by no means new. Is seems to be after the server broadcast. that this kicks in....

Yep, bizarre isn't it, it must be sending some packets to the client regarding the patch and that causes the black screen, but why it would I don't know, still, it's a patch to fix stuff, and that's always good.....unless it isn't, then it isn't!

Today at 15:30 UTC, we'll be releasing a small hotfix to Elite Dangerous: Odyssey in order to address some stability issues within the game.

Stability was a bit wobbly
The fix is intended to help it straighten up
