Many thanks for the update Sally, and all those hard at work fixing the game, it is wholeheartedly welcomed and applauded.

Personally as a backer and life time pass holder, I am going to completely sit this one out (including Horizons) until FD have ‘fully’ released this version of the game as advertised, in its fully optimised state, which logically lets all admit, won’t be until the console release, so whilst I am happy to see that FD are acknowledging the multiple faults of EDO, bug wise, I do sincerely hope it is in a playable state in the future; right now as a release it is not.
On the same issue this is not a beta, FD have released it as intended as a full release. This is somewhat upsetting, yes people paid for alpha access, not beta access, but a full priced finished game, not for a broken game, which is unfinished, and which was probably rushed to meet a fiscal deadline, which if correct on the whole is not cool. It’s doubly uncool as many hoped FD were above such things.
I was surprised when EDO was first aired how ‘little’ content it contained, and how focused it was on FPS gameplay, and it’s refreshing to see reviewers now highlight this too, I’m not talking about ship interiors (well I am) but it’s obvious this entire endeavour was formulated not around bringing additional life and scope to an already brilliant game, and although I acknowledge the new planetary tech is impressive - and maybe you should have just left it at that; but the primary focus it seems, was to try and corner a certain market, and attract a certain demographic.
However, to then see EDO go from alpha to release state so soon! That was really the insight which just identified how FD potentially perceive things.
Right now, we’ll this should be seen as an opportunity; I feel this is an ideal opportunity for FD to listen to current reviews and their community feedback in regards to the shallowness of EDO, and maybe take on board some of the constructive ideas posted in response to EDO and put some additional content into the game, and not just focus on the FPS element.
I understand the FPS element will attract a certain demographic, but this will (and is already showing to be) rather shallow, repetitive and in the longer road ultimately tired. FD may make a bundle but their reputation may not recover, if EDO is just a damp squib.
As a backer my investment in the game at launch has proven to be beneficial, the EDO addition is welcomed and I truly hope to enjoy it, OK sure it’s not what I was expecting but still it has potential - once it’s fixed and optimised. However FD should utilise this opportunity to grow and evolve the game, my only concern is your newer audience is unfortunately paying for something not fit for purpose- at this point in time and that the core of EDO may ultimately fall into obscurity along with your new audiences attention.
