Elite Dangerous "Panther Clipper" Elite feet personal project, by 3D Tech Artist Gavin Harvey

Hmm. I'm not a fan of those wings, tail and how high above ground it stands, when landed.
So, actually, I don't like everything that makes it different from original design, which was really good.

Well, the real salt mining will get into production when it will be announce that, due to its size, the Panther Clipper is able to land only at Planetary Starports

Gavin Harvey came up with a terrific design for the Panther Clipper. He may want to consider making the wings and tail optional cosmetic changes, part of a Panther Clipper ship kit. Personally, I like the wings, but really dislike the tail. No doubt, I would absolutely grind courier missions to unlock his wonderful Panther Clipper.

I don't see why we can't have a small shuttle or something for the large ships, to ferry back and forth to the smaller stations, maybe park a large ship near an Outpost or something, then shuttle and land to interface with the dock, make a deal with what cargo you have, then limpets are dispatched from the station to your ship to unload the cargo. With the new trading update, the one that quashed the mining market, FDEV shouldn't be concerned with oversaturating the small market on an Outpost because the Outpost can only stock up on what it needs, since space would be limited, they may not be able to purchase your complete load.

Shuttles would also come in handy for picking up missions from the outposts. As it stands now, you have to go get a small ship to pick up the mission that can really only be completed in a large ship. Try doing a winged Cargo mission either from or to an outpost. Since its hard to find multiple players willing to do winged cargo anyway, (since they no longer pay decently), I generally do them alone, and in a 720 tonne Cutter, would take 7 to 8 trips to complete a 6000 tonne load. And if you pick up a mission on an outpost (which I never do) I would have to use my 272 tonne Python, which would have about the same amount of cargo to haul, but would take roughly 22 trips to complete. The payout is 6 to 8 mil, not really worth it IMHO for the time it would take to complete.

I read the thread title very thorough (as usual):
What I read: “Elite Dangerous "Panther Clipper" Elite project, by Gavin Harvey”
What I thought: Gavin is a Frontier employee and models the Panther Clipper. FINALLY!

After opening the thread I read very carefully (as always):
What I read: Bla bla bla…
What I saw: Amazing pictures.
What I thought: YESSS!

Then I went over to analyse why all these redundant words accompany those fantastic pictures.

Now I’m very sad.

If the Panther Clipper is big enough, perhaps it could dock a medium ship, SLF style. Then you could transfer goods from you Pather Clipper to your medium ship, up to the cargo limit of your medium ship, then deliver goods to a station with your onboard medium ship. A Python would be a good medium size delivery ship.

P.S. If you hire a crew member, maybe your crew member could pilot the ship used to transfer goods to and from the Panther Clipper. That would be a good role for a crew member.

If you expected a content update at this time, you really set yourself up for disappointment.

I didn’t expect a content update at all.
My superior reading skills combined with my excessive enthusiasm tends to create annoying mental dropouts…have to work on that. 😕

"This is a large project of using Box art to gat a good concept for a ship in Elite Dangerous "Panther Clipper" i played this game twenty years ago and this ship is a iconic peace from the game. this allowed my to run some animation concepts for future product design. One of the important factors was to try and keep a purist form from frontier and modernise it. not sure if I did but i am sure in the comments it will become clear if I did or not."

Oh my god. Its like a F117 Nighthawk and Walmart had a baby. Excellent work Cmdr.

I disagree.. from that top view it looks amazing and if you think a smig outside the box the add-on parts for this could be wings (bird like wings)
That would look sweet!

Check out Hawks Ship from Buck Rogers (Buck Who??)

It kinda reminds me of that: https://www.monstersinmotion.com/cart/images/18bdw01a.jpg

Oh man Buck Rogers. Buck Rogers and the 21st Century (Sega Genesis) was my second space game ever (Solaris the first) and it blew my mind.
