Elite Dangerous PS4 - using hotas x52

Awesome you figured out how to manage it, but seems like a huge expense. I would think the PS4 hotas would be cheaper than that setting up - akin to the better mousetrap syndrome. But again, I love stuff like this...

As someone who has the "old" Hotas.T (Ps3 version) and the X52 Pro, their is a night and day difference between the sticks. While it would be even money for me to buy a Hotas.T 4 as opposed to getting the Cronusmax and using my existing X52 Pro, the end result would be MUCH better going through the added step of setting up the adapter to allow me the use of my X52.

But then again, if one already has one, the additional device is cheaper than a new hotas.

While it is close, yes the adapter is slight less expensive. And it is WORLDS better using the X52 over the Thrustmaster.

You are correct, buying the compatible hotas for ps4 is less of a hassle and clunkyness in your desk...

In my case it was more like "hmmm this is a challenge", plus i love x52 and i had the adaptor, so one thing led to the other :p

Yes and no...
I can map all of the keys in x52, but unfortunatelly I am limited to the number of keys in the ps4 controller.
What i mean is that the adapter is limited to having the ps4 controller mapping, so i cannot have more keys than there are keys in it.... but i can have, lets say, several different keys from x52 mapped to the same one in ps4.
That limits me, but at the same time, I can still have almost the same mapping i am used to x52 on pc.

I would love to have more, for example, if the software from this adaptor allowed me to map a key from x52 into a combination of keys from ps4 (for example, one key in x52 mapped to triangle+square sequence), that would be perfect.
I would be able to map almost 100% of what i have on pc.

But even with the limitation, it works very well.
Ah NUTS....

I was hoping that the software DID allow you to map multiple button presses on the PS4 controller to a single button press on the X52.

I am really glad I read this again before buying the adapter.

All that being said, I will contact the folks who make the cronusmax and see if they might be able to incorporate that ability into a future software update.

You can map multiple button presses iiirc, it's in one of the options in a drop down menu when you go to bind the button and I think it's called "Advanced Mapping" or something like that.

What is the input like with the cronusmax using the hotas is there any delay that is quite noticeable or is it virtually none existent as the last time I tried it on my xbox it was really bad.

Sorry I feel like I am having trouble to explain this limitation in the x-aim pluggin from cronusmax. Or maybe someone can prove me wrong and there is a different way, but i never found it.

You can map all keys in the hotas, but they are limited to the number of imputs that the ps4 dualshock control has. So you will only have that amount of buttons etca from dualshock, that is what i mean.

Regarding delays, there were none really, the control response is pretty good.

Yeah, that's how it works... looks complicated but it is not really.
And it works really really well. The responsiveness in the controls is there, the only thing is that since we are mapping buttons from the hotas into a ps4 controller, we cannot make use of all the buttons in hotas.

For example, the switches at the base of the stick, i could not use all of them.

But you get used to it, I mapped everything and I can say it is really nice.

If you already have a hotas, purchasing this cronusmax is not a big investiment.

Also since the video above, I have changed keys for the YAW left-right controls to use the right analog stick, this way the yaw controls being analog, gives the proper fine tuning in the control.

if more people get interested, I can make a video explaining and showing the configuration....

Hello,
I just bought the cronusmax for my Saitek X52 on ps4.
I am a little lost about the configuration.
Have you planned a video to show the preparation of the cronusmax and the setting to operate the saitek x52?
Thank you very much !!!
