Elite Dangerous | System Colonisation Beta Details & Feedback

Hi everyone,
I´m trying to colonize a system and I have some points I´d like to see improved. It is probably somewhere here as well, but anyway:
  • I´d be great if NPC ships would contribute towards station building progress. I can see many, many NPCs coming to Colonization ship, but nothing from that. It doesnt have to be some big ammount of help, just to see something is happening and its not me alone who contributes...
  • I´d be great to have a possibility to create quests for other players. Something like: Hey, I have 50 millions credits. Here, take it if you bring me back 5000 Titanium which will contribute to building progress. So you invest your money instead of time and let other players help you in meaningful way
  • Material requirements are really big. Now, we are basically in a bubble, building in a close proximity to developed systems. I cannot imagine hauling these extreme ammounts into the middle of nowhere.
  • I´d also be good to have list of materials required for building somewhere more accessible (for example as a part of transaction page). Now I always have to go to Colonized system map to see what else I need
  • Also, let us choose location of primary port please. Or if it is possible, then I didnt find the option
Hopefully some points will make sense to more people, not just me :)

Everything is fine that way. The claiming process is finished after paying the fee. UI switches back to the beginning, and the system is in fact at that point in time unclaimable (as you have claimed it). Just continue with the process (fly to the system ....) Maybe a bit irritating / misleading somehow I admit.
Fine how?

1. The fee has not been deducted from my account, so it's not paid.
2. The UI switches back indeed, but also it displays an error message saying "System Claim U...".
3. The UI keeps treating the system as free to claim (it stays green and I can repeat the whole process any number of times, with the exact same result).
4. The "My Colonies" tab of the galmap is still empty.
5. I cannot do anything colonization-related in the system, no place to plant the nav beacon, nothing.

The system I chose looks like this:

After the station (outpost) configuration process I can press this button:

Which results in the following error message:

Then I can go back to step #1 and rinse repeat.

One thing I've noticed... holy heck there needs to be the incremental increase in speed for transferring FC cargo, much like when buying off the commodity market. My index finger's tired of sitting there waiting XD
Consider to setup Buy/Sell orders instead
Bugs aside, i wonder how many settlements you could place in close proximity to each other and how close you can place them? Could you create a mega city?
I think the UI says 100km apart.

half hundred expired reports on the infamous bug tracker. I just started a new. I can make 3 replicas with my alt accounts, be happy to get some help to atleast get it pass the initial state.
That they haven't fixed this, or even made it same as the market initially, is quite amazing honestly. Not sure what to pin it on, lazyness or incompetence... is there a thing called lazy incompetence? or, incompetent lazyness?
anyhooo..

I have just completed primary port in my system. For a few mins I was able to add new construction, then I had to go afk for a while (I had construction menu open) and once I got back ED crashed. Now I can't do it. System is not listed in my colony list too. I have no access to system architect interface therefore I cannot add next construction atm.
Is this normal? Do I have to wait until Thursday reset to add new station?

Edit: After few hours I have logged back to the game and I was able to add another construction to my system. Whatever was the reason that caused lack of system architect interface seems to be gone now.

Please consider allowing us to pass the system architect role to another commander.

This would be a nice addition, except I guess it's not going to happen in case people started selling systems for real money which would be against everything that fdev have indicated they want in other situations.

Totally! But the workaround is to put your cargo on sale in your (suitably restricted) FC market and use that interface to buy it off yourself instead. If you have buy orders, though, switching it around would get annoying too, I suppose.

Please consider allowing us to pass the system architect role to another commander. Please LIKE this if you agree that this would be helpful.
would be nice idea especially if a system you wanted had already been taken over

but could see this would open up aftermarket sales on systems probably out of Fdev's control

Allow us to select which faction we want to expand for. If we represent an old player faction that is constantly being oppressed due to perceived inactivity, I should be able to select that faction rather than be forced into another factions. Also, a slight increase - not much - to the range. 20LY should be a sufficient size to allow players to find tenable systems rather than systems that are composed of only stars.

given how much that's been going on for years for elite accounts... who cares?

there's 400 billion systems. none are really all that unique or special. nobody is going to corner the market on 'good' ones

You always get your squadron-aligned faction into the system, whoever you bought the permit from.

And then you have a tiny-population system which is unlikely to have much traffic other than you, and for now only has a single station, so flipping it to that faction being in charge should be easy.

Once that's done and you've got one station back you can then use it as the lead faction for any future systems you colonise in that area.

initially I was hoping that this way (using squad) one could use colonization as a backdoor to establish a PMF after FD stopped doing them - at that time they stated that at a later stage it would be re-introduced. Maybe with Vanguard - wko knows....
