Hooray, download finished, 6 hours 5 minutes on a Virgin 200mb/s connection.
P2P download? Are you mad? FDev wouldn't touch such dodgy technology with a barge pole! ;-)Some kind of hybrid download method would be ideal. The first (several) users download the game directly from Frontier and start seeding it via torrent. Then as more and more players come online, more and more of them are both downloading and re-seeding. It always seem to crawl about this time of day (0.12MB/s now on a 150Mbps line)
5 minutes to go. It has taken 5 hours! 0.52 Mb/s is the current staggering speed.Been off playing PS2 for a while. I've come back to try the download again and am now getting good healthy download speeds again. 20m sounds better than 6 hours
Tried all methods of downloading 2.2, no dice for me.
Could someone upload their data.ovx file?
That would be really appreciated.
Cheers!
nvm.
As so as I posted, the server finally decided to recover and update that file. (It was hanging on that file all night)
I'M IN GAME!
WHOOP!
For those in the UK seeing slow download speeds, I'm wondering whether it's a problem with Virgin Media. People with Sky or BT seem to be saying it's working ok for them. I have VM's 200Mbit service; as others have mentioned, I get between 0.14 and 1.89MB/sec atm.
Re people commenting on a version watermark on the screen lower-left, I really hope a patch to get rid of that is released asap, not just rolled into some future update. It ought to be dealt with separately much sooner, sounds very distracting.
Oh, new low of 0.01MB/sec. :} Can anybody beat 20 days to download? Hehe.
Ian.
I have 75mbs with Virgin media in London and it took about four hours to down load.
I had about 20million worth of missions on board last night and parked up half way between Ceos and the bubble after my 3A fuel scoop put me to sleep. When I got back in my ship just now after the upgrade all the missions were gone. The cargo is there but useless. Is that normal after an update?
