Elite Dangerous | Titan Cocijo enters meltdown!

please allow us to transfer drives even when they are too big for the current ship, i almost sold my 7a drive lol, must wait for the ship to transfer before i can initiate module transfer now, thanks
edit: oh god i have to swap every ship before i can initiate transfers geeeezz
You can do that already - go to Stored Modules and transfer from there. Source: I just transferred all drives (including 6 and 7) while sitting on my Krait's cockpit.

im in sol on the top of earth facing the cojo signal.see what happens in the morning,if my ship is still there when i log in lol.those brave cmdrs vid will be well watched,07 and good luck all

Has anyone confirmed that the Human Tech Broker FSDs can have experimental effects added? I know the CG ones can, according to the announcement, but am wondering if this applies to all the shiny new FSD drives or if there’s going to be some serious disappointment down the line (I’m not at home since they were released so can’t check until tomorrow.)

Added mass manager to one of them a few minutes ago. Mandy went from 82.88 to 85.90Ly

Braben himself says "Pro-Thargoid or Anti-Thargoid, that's an interesting question. It's a bit like asking if you are pro Alien in Aliens [movies]. I think I love the stories they can create and I think in a lot of stories you need a protagonist and antagonist, you know it doesn't make sense without it"

So read between the lines Braben himself is saying - why would you be pro-thargoid? I mean did you want to side with the Alien in Aliens? No, the alien is of course is the bad/evil plot device. Same with the Thargoids....

KILL'EM ALL! :)
I thought the bad/evil one in Alien was Ash and the people off stage who gave him his orders. The Alien itself wasn’t something to side with but no more evil than any large predatory creature.

I wrote this in another thread:

My Anaconda long range workhorse

79.29 - SCO Increased range 5 + Mass Manager
83.04 - new FSD received as a reward, pre-engineered 5
85.95- new FSD received as a reward, pre-engineered 5 + Mass Manager

It has been quite a few years since I've played so please forgive the simple question, but can this be viewed from anywhere within the Sol system? Should I find a nice spot by the Moon? Or do I need to in amongst the caustic gas?

earths orbit will be fine or go in the cloud and get blasted out to a nice obsevable place for the secondary big bang so to speak as the first explosion just pushes you out

there will soon be new pieces of eight scattered all over the earths surface me hearties arrrrrr
i rec@least 5 tots of rum fa all ya old pirates so break oot the winter pina colladas an dream of running hot again:giggle:

Technically it's visible from anywhere but on the moon it might only be a tiny speck of light in the distance. You can usually safely be near the Titan, but I'll be keeping some extra safe distance for this one, just in case.

by rights if further out say jupiter as the speed of light is relatively slow you should see the explosion some 45 min plus after the explosion but i dont think the game will observe that factual mechanism🤷‍♂️

take a radio journey back in time amoungst the stars
(use mouse pointer to see name of the stars as they drift by;))

Pulse-wave xeno scanner, sub-surface extraction missiles and a caustic sink to reach the Titan. Cargo racks too, of course, bring a shutdown field neutralizer in case one of the idiot NPCs starts trying to blast Orthrus which fire off shutdown pulses if disturbed while fleeing the Titan. Collectors limpets also highly recommended due to the quantity of pods you'll be picking up.

Additionally, patience for Scythes "stealing" pods when they launch flyby limpets("thimpets") that often don't reach them before they enter their exit portal, and your own getting stuck under your cargo hatch because the game gets stuck processing cargo and will refuse to let any other items enter that queue until it is. Defensive modules are relatively unnecessary - with low enough number of players in a meltdown instance, the Thargoids will prefer leaving over shooting anything nearby. So it is generally recommended to perform meltdown pod rescues in solo. The only dangers you should face for Sol are hyperdictions and the caustic cloud/mines.

If interested in getting your numers recorded and finding some other useful information, take a look at this spreadsheet for the organized effort to rescue pods from a Titan in meltdown.
Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately I could not get the sub-surface extraction missiles to extract anything, because my ship was equipped with a wrong kind of a xeno-scanner, an Enhanced Xeno Scanner, when it should have been a Pulse-Wave Xeno Scanner. I didn't remember to double-check the utility mounts before I left to Sol. I think I got confused with the xeno scanners. I didn't know there are at least three different versions of it. The third is the standard xeno scanner. Now I think there is at least one too many of them. Or the Pulse-Wave Xeno Scanner should be renamed to Sub-Surface Xeno Scanner. I spent two and a half hours for this already and now I quit for tonight.

I started these thargoid titan operations on friday and spent around 15 - 20 hours for it, scoring zero damage to the titan, zero bounties and zero rescued humans. Feels great!
