Elite Dangerous Voice Controls Question

Hey everyone, I was wanting to try a program -like- VoiceAttack, but I was wondering if there were any good free ones with any good projects finished or in progress for it for this game? What I mean is how there's that AI ASTRA you can buy if you own VoiceAttack, or the free KICS 2 at http://www.ripleygalactic.com/ which also requires VoiceAttack.

I'd love something immersive that talks back like either of those programs, but is a free project.

There are a couple of free voice packs due out if I remember, one called DORIS, a rather homicidal, sarcastic computer as seen in Kate Russell's book mostly harmless and another called Derek which is modelled on a Dalek and used by a streamer called Mahddogg I don't know if the command mapping will be in place, but the samples you can link to commands will be.

google Kate click and mahddogg and twitch to see them in use.

the HCS voice packs are amazing though, and at only 5.99 a steal

Voice Attack has a free version, which is limited to one profile with up to 20 commands. It's worth a try to see how good it really is. The price of the full version is very reasonable, and it can be used with pretty much any program, not just games.

I'd give voice attack a try, as said above there is a 20 day free trial on it to see if it works for you. It uses the Microsoft voice engine so make sure you have run through the speech recognition tutorials on your PC a few times first.

If I have read your OP correctly, your looking for a free program like Voice Attack that also has a free voice pack?. There is a free program that works very similar to Voice Attack called VoiceMacro (http://www.voicemacro.net/). The development thread can be found here (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=109213). I'm not aware of any ongoing projects with VoiceMacro that involves creating a Voice Pack at this time. Unless you want to start one yourself?

Voice Attack is USD $8. That's it. For that price, you can make as many command profiles as you want with as many commands in them as you wish until your computer runs out of space to store them all. It works delightfully for Elite, but it can also be used in other games as well. I do in fact use it for a couple of my other games and it's just as helpful there as it is in Elite.

I don't use the Voice Packs although I do toy with the notion every time a new one is released.

I tried that and all i can say is that it's basically a ghetto voice attack, if that. I know it's free, but if you look at it in terms of aggravation and time spent, eight dollars to get something that works right out of the gate is really not much. I would give eight bucks just for the freaking manual that it comes with.
