Elite data hogging my main drive

Hi, is there any way to change the drive the data is saved to, I have been playing Elite since it came out and there's about 10 to 15 gig of data. I have no room left for Windows updates or much else. Otherwise what can I safely delete to help create space? Thanks for any help :)

I do not know how large your drive is so you might want to look at these to see if they help:
Start-all programs-system tools-do disk cleanup and disk defrag.
then C: local disk-windows-empty the temp folder
good luck

You mean journal log files? (things saved in C:\Users\yourusername\Saved Games\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous ?)
Yes, you can delete those files without any harm (or move them somewhere else if you think you might need them later). Your commander is saved on the server anyway.

If you have network logs saving turned on, then those logs are by default kept in main game folder, but this can be changed from within the game (in network options from main menu) - either turned off, or the destination folder changed.

Other than that I can't think of anything else that might be written on your drive and amount to 10-15 GB of data... unless you're doing a lot of screenshots by accident...

As other has said, check you saved games for the your user and clear out any of the old journal log files etc... and if you have any 3rd party tools install check to see if they are saving the log files.

Brilliant, thanks guys :) I'll switch them off and delete what's there :)
EDIT: Hmmmmm, it appears logging is already turned off, what I have is a lot of data stored from the beta, I have deleted that with no problems. Out of interest I'm presuming it isn't safe to delete any of this unless it's also some form of logging...
Elite Data.png

It seems to be stored under many different dates, does any one know if I can get rid of any of it? Thanks again :)

I wouldn't touch it - those files in "elite-dangerous-64/Win64" folder.
Those are main game files - different dates probably suggest when they were updated.

None of that is superfluous, those are the game's files. The full Horizons game weighs about ~20gb, not much you can about that. If you're running out of space for windows, move Horizons to a different drive (Steam can easily do that).
As for netlogs and player journal files mentioned by others, they don't amount to much, a couple hundred megs at most if you've been keeping it all for several years.

sorry...
Is there any metod to redownload log files from FD...I deleted my logfies as op's situation for freeing some space...but I want them back?

Okay, thanks for your opinions guys, I'll leave them be and see if I can move it all to the other drive :) Cheers!

I have ~100GB of netlogs since I started saving them in 2017.

My ED install is about 79gb, but then my Black Desert install is larger, around 85gb, 10 to 15gb of data seems a very small install, minimal I would suggest!
