Discuss anything relating to Elite: Dangerous

They say "discuss anything relating to" the game but we all know that is a lie.. how many of you have been warned that you are off topic or that your post does not go here or you will be banned because you used a bad word or phrase like illegal immigrant .. the list goes on..

I hope that discussing Elite Forum titles and descriptions fall into the narrow category that is "Discuss anything relating to Elite: Dangerous".. let the hypocrisy begin.

BTW how many of you know what BBS stands for :) I am betting many since you are all a bunch of old guys

So you feel that because it says "discuss anything related to", you should ne allowed to use whatever foul language you want? How does that work?

And where in the realm of reality do you get or hear me saying I should be able to use foul language? I am pretty sure you comment does not fall under the concept of hypocrisy but it seems to fall outside reality. What I am talking about is that message get moved all over the boards because they do not fit the current narrative even though it says clearly "..relating to Elite: Dangerous"

My threads have mostly stayed on General Discussion...and I tend to skirt what is acceptable for relevance (Mr. Tangential here). I've had one thread moved...but that was because I started a science topic that really was unrelated to the game other than being about space.

What are some examples of bad moves? From what I can tell, aside from some minor disagreements that I've kept to myself, the moderation team is pretty darn fair.

EDIT: didn't know you had to be old to know what BBS means...BBS is still a staple for a lot of things...still like it better than reddit, facebook, twitter whatever communication doodad

How do "illegal immigrants" relate to Elite or any discussion regarding Elite?

There's a difference between bad words and foul language.

The moderators here do seem strict, too strict in my personal opinion. Perhaps cultural differences apply. I'm not at all certain how much of the moderation here is automated. I'm used to STEAM forums where the conversation is looser, but the system automatically censors us. Maybe the more personal/less computerized moderation is preferable. I do get a kick knowing that no matter how far I ramble, some poor benighted folk are paid to read every word I write - assuming that moderating here is not automated.

Still, the old BBS rule applies: their playground, their rules. If I get kicked, it means about as much to me as how much it would mean to them or you if I left on my own. Pride dented perhaps.
