Hi All,

I've created #Elite-Dangerous on the Quakenet IRC network (in lieu of any other one unless anyone know's different?).
If we can get some more bodies in there idling at least and then I can organise bot protection for it.

I remember using #alt.fan.elite in the 1990's with my Atari ST/Falcon (via the AtarIRC program), so its been going for longer than that. Plus there is alt.fan.elite on Usenet too.

I've been setting my own server up on the RaspberryPi today.
I can still setup a server if anyone is interested in having our own community run server?

In 2001 it was on DALnet. It then moved to Starchat.net until there was a falling out with the network staff. Now it's on SynIRC.net these days.

Hm, I'm more of a #freenode person myself.

Each to their own kurgan, nothing wrong with freenode but QuakeNet was the largest IRC network for a decade (its 2nd so far for 2013) and is gaming oriented
