Elite is boring for space millionaires

It would be nice if the player had some purchasing influence over systems as a means of doing something after being a billionaire. To prevent some sort of Eve situation, I guess it could be limited to donating towards new stations in uninhabited systems.

Go find the most unique system in the Galaxy. And Thargoids, find the Thargoids while you're out.

This question was about, what are the otpions for a space millionaire, who tried everything...

I'm curious how other players think in long term in Elite Dangerous, currently I don't see any orher exciting options to contiunue the game....
I would like to hear good ideas, perhaps you got one

Wuss.

What you do is, you buy an Anaconda. You kit it out with the most expensive, high-end components and you fill the cargo bay wall-to-wall with the most expensive rares. Then you fly your ship Kamikaze style into the biggest, hottest star you can find. While chewing broken glass doused in Dave's Insanity Hot Sauce, hammering a nail through your nose and clenching a hand grenade in your butt. Stream the whole thing on Twitch. Die in a blaze of a-hole bravado. Die like a man.

How about have all the ships fully 'A' graded, them take each one to Sag 'A' n back with screenshot evidence, r u triple Elite? Cos there's that too if not I guess.
You know each Elite rank is nothing but a time sink right? They have no benefit on the game in any shape or form currently.

Its simply a word on the side panel, whose worth has been heavily devalued over time. Ironically enough, I thought that game development has moved passed the point where a single word is enough motivation for a player to sink hundreds of hours in to attain.

Summarized: if you have a lot of money, tried everything, there isn't any more exciting options... :(

And who says the rich don't have problems.

Maybe you should join the lobby to get FD currency exchanged for bitcoin. The problem is, you won't be able to spend any of it until the year 3100, but that's a story for another day.

Perhaps your game is over...:(

How many hours do you have in to this game? Even really good games can only give you so much. I had 60 hours into Fallout before I bought any DLC. I was satisfied with 60 hours for $60.

Maybe give it a break for a week or two.

Question was not for joke.
Is there any options for veteran players or only for beginners?
Missions are joke at this level, piracy is joke, explore is boring, scan, jump, scan, jump...
So what?
I think I'm not the only player who is close to this level or reached this level "what should I do now"?

Yeah, because virtual money or point scores are SO much more relevant than a title. :p

I give it a break, trying Dota 2 :)

I agree with Barf - perhaps you have finished the game for you if you can't get any satisfaction from doing anything. Nothing lasts forever, and I hope you enjoyed the ride.

Sometimes you have to be creative to get everything out of a game. There have been some good suggestions given here that I think you are ignoring, but I will add one more - galactic sign writing. See what maddavo has done.

When the games mechanic loop always ends in said virtual money, yeah it ends up being relevant, since after all its the only end result available. Even reputation fails to exist outside the loop, in addition to its effects only applying to said loop.

The title just gives you nothing for your time, doesn't even bother to notify you when you rank up either.

I would really like to see the ability to build your own little empire. Once you have so much money there is not reason why you wouldn't build your own station, maybe even two eventually, contract mission items on the bulletin board to draw players that would help build your influence in your system. Gain mining rights or other rights over your own world that your station orbits. When planetary landings come into play FD could implement a simplified version of SimCity that would let you build a capitol city per se... and then rule your own world. Partake in missions that improve your economy or require you to squelch and uprising, enhance trade and build your planets exports and financial power. After you do this you could build your station's influence to extend through the whole system and build a capitol ship of your own to make your own, true, player created war that if successful, results in you controlling your entire solar system. Background simulation runs as you decide to expand your sphere of influence slowly so that you eventually are able to build another station in another system and restart the process until you control the GALAXY!!!

Anyway... this is a dream I have. Caveated however to specifically state that through this whole process at any time you should be able to go do whatever you want in your ship. Potentially even appoint an NPC that will automatically maintain the status quo of your empire while you're gone (only for a price however), and definitely NOT improve your empire in your absence. You should be required to be actively involved in your empire if that is what you are working towards.

Use to the money to change the game... Use it to help direct a war, save a planet or increase the influence of faction. If your character gas a story you can use that to decide where they go next... They have made it, so now what? It really is up to you.

Don't say that the fanbois might here you.

Already done. Oh, I got a video from a combat, a FDL against me combat logged :), I have evidence... So it is interesting, how should be a real combat this way?
Try and kill a bigger ship, e.g. python, anaconda? Try and kill multiple commanders at the same time?

One of my favorite fights was against a REALLY competent vulture pilot I interdicted as an FdL. In the end I won, but only with 2% of my hull remaining. Another good fight was fighting and destroying a 2 man vulture + python wing. That's what I like in elite - fighting and killing other commanders.

Fundamentally all video games are repetitive, whether they be space games like elite or eve, shooters like planetside or counterstrike, or strategy games like civilization. You either find something in them that you enjoy, or you don't. I like hunting other commanders in elite, so I do that.

Just like when you killed me with no warning and for no reason. I'm watching you potato; welcome to my list.
:D:D:D

Is this your first rodeo? The game has been released for a few months and you've reached the end game early. So early that there is no endgame. Congrats!

Now you either make your own game or you sit and wait for new content. That's your reward! YAAAAAAAY!!!!
