Elite Mile High Club! - Anyone beat 39990ft?

Hi All,

I'm constantly amazed about how well ED runs on virtually anything!

I'm currently just South of Greenland in a reasonably well appointed Lufthansa A380, playing ED on the on-board wifi on a trashy 2013 MacBook Air (the Intel 4000 HD one), and I'm getting ok frame rates at 1280x768, enough I can do some trading for the next 6 or so hours!

Well done everyone on the networking and engineering teams at FD! :)

So - can anyone beat 35002ft?....

UPDATE: 39,990 is the new target to beat :) Pics later! Did bounce up above 40k in chop, but I couldn't get a pic.

(pics for proof!)

This is awesome. I regularly play ED on my MacBook Air tethered to my iPhone, whilst waiting for planes in airports and so on.

Not tried on the plane itself yet though! I didn't want to get stung by costly wi-fi charges.

I was so bored on my flight at the weekend that I fired up Elite '84 in BeebEm to get my fix :D

If you were playing CQC then I would be reading about you flying a space game within a space game when flying on a plane in a car.

What mouse are you using? I'm really tempted by the MadCatz Rat 'M' wireless gaming mouse. Small enough to slip in my travel bag but versatile enough for gaming or real work :)

Using call button to summon flight attendant... "Miss, can you ask the pilot to climb by 100ft, so I can post a better picture than Slopey"?

I think I know how that one will end...

I tried something like that, but I was side tracked by an urgent delivery of Rum based performance enhancers to my temporary outpost in Upper-19G. :)

Just a little Logitech M125 - retractable cord, and no need to worry about batteries/bluetooth nonsense. :)
