Elite miners?

I'd rather have a Mining rank displayed in my ship than that repugnant CQC one.

The original game supported trading, combat and mining (you could explore, but not for reward), so a mining rank would not be so jarring as a CQC one.

Even if the ranks didn't display, it would be nice if NPCs could react to them in dialogue. For example, an NPC miner could tease a player who was a noob at mining but be in awe of an elite miner.

The CQC rank is pointless for anyone not playing CQC.

I personally don't want to be reminded about how "Helpless" I am in a game-mode that I don't play.

Originally there were going to be 4 : Combat, trade, exploration and piracy.

The fourth measure was actually something akin to Diplomacy, which instead was ditched and elements of it implemented into the Reputation system.
