Elite / Frontier Elite on Xbox Live Arcade

GLFrontier is based on the Atari version of Frontier. I wouldn't hazard a guess how you could convert them. Why do you want to convert them and into what format?

Also, why couldn't you get GLFFE to work? You might have to update your drivers.

With regards to FFE however, all savegames should work between JJFFE, GLFFE and FFE3D as they are all PC ports, unless of course you want to mod the savegames. In that case you need a utility called Buffet and guess were you could get a download? Yup, you guessed it, Space Sim Central

the version of glfrontier is using amiga saves, tho i have old pc saves id love to play, hence the converter.
again ive dl'd ffed3d. no luck yet.

I dont know if there was such a thing to convert between Amiga and PC savegames. I never knew though you could use Amiga savegames with GLFrontier!

You mean I have had very advanced Frontier Commanders sitting on a floppy disk for the last 10 years when I could have been using them! Typical, and I just got my miggy up and running to

Talking of the miggy, been on ebay lately?
there is or was a custom build a1200 in a black case... With sumat like a 300 gb hdd, accelerators, scart to l/r phono and video in cable AND 4 USB sockets pc mouse. Was going for around 250 due to work and travel. Made me sick cuz there's no way I could afford that:eek:

I think that would only work of the XBOX had a joystick.
It might just be me, but flying a space-faring craft with the controller seems unnatural to me.

That is a heavily expanded 1200. You could get a much more standard spec one for a lot less. I got a plain one for just £30.00 off Amibay. Stick in a cheap 4 gig CF drive (or buy a pre-configured one off Ebay already full of games, so plug and play) and an 020 or 030 card with a little extra ram and your good to go for a solid WHDLoad machine. 300 gigs in a miggy would be just silly. A simple miggy like this would set you back about £80-£90. Or you could just use an emulator. WinUAE will run all miggy programs and games (using downloadable adf images) taking advantage of the increased power of modern processors on PCs. I even have it installed in my modded Xbox 1. Its funny to see a miggy game running on it, Mr Bill Gates would be most displeased! :D

Modded 'Box?! Modded how???
have you got buffet running? I've downloaded it a few times, each time I get the incomplete or damaged archive message.

SSC Problems

There is extensive guides on the net on how to mod, but basically you can either "soft mod" or "re-chip" it then put a new GUI on it based on XBMC. Go googling and have a look. I just bought mine off ebay with the work already done, much easier that way ;)

As for Buffet (and FFE3D) on the SSC, it looks like the whole database has been corrupted in the move to a new server. What Darkone (the site admin) is going to to is re-upload the whole thing, but.......... about 20% of the data he has is lost. So those of us who did manage to download stuff before the transfer can re-upload files to plug the gaps in the database. I have asked Darkone to provide a list of what he needs and have Buffet and FFE3D standing by should he need it, plus a load of new ship models and other related stuff too. :)

Actually, this has highlighted a major problem. If the likes of FFE3D and other things were just located in one site, should that site ever go down, then we would all be sunk. I think I might have to contact some of the elite related sites on the web and ask them to host it. You know, just in case the worst should happen.

I don't see how it'd be put on X-Box Live Arcade unless the game goes through a major retooling in terms of graphics, sound and so forth.

Microsoft has certain standards they hold titles to if they choose to put them on XBLA, as well as certain minimum prices and so forth.

If we want Elite on X-Box it'd be more reasonable to hope for someone to make an Elite-inspired title and released it on XBLIG(X-Box Live Indie Games), XBLIG has a lot of old-school style titles, including some very fun real-time roguelikes.

There is one, Final Rift.
OK but basic.
