Elite: Reclamation lore related to in game discovery?

I wouldn't call anything in this post a huge spoiler so far as plot line of the book goes - but just in case anyone may become offended:

I don't know if any of you have read the book Elite: Reclamation, but there is a point where
the protagonist meets an old Elite ranked pilot in a hospital who states that she's been way out to the edges of space and that she found something that the Empire and Federation erased from her mind when she came back, but she knows that whatever it was is worse than the Thargoids... I believe the best hint we had to the location in the the book went something like this: "<EDITED: REDACTED>"
When I did my best to simulate this in the galaxy map it led me straight to
Nebula NGC 7822
, so naturally I starting heading there only to find that plenty of people had already explored it... Did anybody find anything? Any thoughts on if Frontier actually implemented the lore from the book into the game? I have seen several other indication like the mentioning of Senator Kahina Loren (who appears in the same book) in Galnet... any ideas?

I haven't read the Elite: Reclamation, but Elite: Legacy I have read and it was a good one. I have also Out of the Darkness that is not finished yet. Good stories.

it is only about 3000 light years out so an afternoons trip to investigate

Well see what the news letter brings on up coming events and plan from there

My pleasure, Drew! Although I actually listened to the audio book from the mp3 I got from the Fantastic Store. I really enjoyed the performance of the Narrator and the incorporation of the in game sounds and the music. It was really pleasurable and helped my time spent walking home from work pass much faster. Thank you and great job :)

**P.S. Any tips on that tidbit of info that seemed so cleverly dropped into the book in the middle / end? ;-)

As for everyone else - I just recently arrived in the Nebula I mentioned. As I feel is the case with most of the ED community, I've got a large amount of RL commitments that consume most of my time (I dislike being an adult), but I will do my best to find and report back anything. I have a few other alternate points of interest should the nebula itself not contain the content I am looking for **if it's yet been implemented [/glance at Drew inquisitively]**

A perusal of the Galnet feeds over the next few weeks and months may make things a little less... nebulous.

Cheers,

Drew.

Ahhh ha! So she found something ;-) I sure hope this story is also included in the Elite: Reclamation sequel. I really enjoy the meshing of reading the fiction and exploring it in-game.

I've got this book sitting in my bookshelf, I've been itching to get into it for a while but haven't had much time....I think I'll just have to make time :p

Be NGC 7822 to destination or not in the book, this thread was reason enough to heard out there.
The marvelous nature of going exploring because of rumours of rumours then the enjoyment of see the nebula first as a small star, which as time and distance passes grows majestic.

Shall have to get the audio book to listen to whilst I chart the nebula and steam home

Ok... update so far - been out to NGC 7822 and found nothing story related. Had to head back because of poor exploration build (first time) refit and heading back out in a direction that I believe is more in accordance with the directions provided in Elite Reclamation. I believe I am currently in the correct area, but haven't found anything yet. Still a bunch of areas to check - it's a big area potentially and hard to narrow down precisely. Not to mention the directions may be 2d or 3d (hard to tell) and also mention 'Dark Systems' which I initially interpreted to mean unexplored systems, but are supposed to be systems without a star according to old Dev DDAs. These were not implemented I believe. Any more hints Drew? xD

Definitely plan to! Wife has me on a tight budget currently tho ;-)

Any other explorers been trying this and have any updates? maybe?
