Elite Tattoos

Just curious if anyone has, or knows of anyone with - any Elite based tattoos.

Any 80's n00bs with wireframe ink out there? :)

I've got a couple of geeky tattoos:

(An @ for every roguelike I've made - I need to get it updated actually.)

(Solar eclipse. First tattoo artists bodged the job though, so it's not as good as I'd like :-/)

Been thinking of maybe getting an Elite-based one, but I'm not sure what I'd get. Need a bit more time to think :)

The @'s just make me think of someone with a stutter trying to tell you their email address.

Yep. I run a podcast about roguelike design too.
Many moons ago, back in 1990, I wrote a program that you used to design these games. It was a roguelike designer/creator...it then allowed you to play your designed game. I didn't know they were known as roguelike games.
Was written in Turbo Pascal though, and I lost the source code while at Uni :(

Wow, awesome! Turbo Pascal was my first introduction to code at school :) And my first few roguelike games were made in FreePascal. Very friendly language.

Turbo Pascal (1988) was a hoot - especially the ability to use assembly code to speed it up! It was my third programming language after Basic (1981) then Fortran (1986). Migrated to Delphi in 2007 and C++ in 2012. Still programming....

It's Seven Day Roguelike week this week, where lots of devs make a roguelike in 7 days. You should join in!

Ah, um, but back to tattoos... Some googling around shows this:

Clearly there's an Elite tattoo out there! Guy's blog says he got it done in 2003 and he's excited about the new game :)

Turbo Pascal 3.0, 5.0 and 6.0 here.

Wrote some roguelikes and other "world simulation with AI" programs myself, too.

6.0 added the possibility to add asm-code so I made myself a multichannel, multisamplingrate TSR sound player compoatible to standard Soundblaster, SB16, AWE32 and my Pro Audio Spectrum 16 ^^

Never was into object oriented back then, now it's bread and butter for my work.

Also some first steps in switching the 386 into protected mode but after that nothing ran anymore ^^

Gosh. I still have the sourcecode here. I wonder how long this all is ago...
