So we have all seen the nice VR products that have come out recently. The other day i was mowing the lawn when i had a crazy and insane idea, but i still believe it is a cool idea so i thought i would share it with the forums here.
The HTC Vive for example allows you to move in a small space around the room in some games. Others will use some sort of teleportation in the game to move you around. Now im not an expert or anything; but assuming the Vive uses X and Y coordinates for moving around the room. You could do some cool things if you think of it. Now my idea... When Elite comes out with the ability to walk on ships i was thinking of how you could use the Vive to walk on a full ship.
We all know how big an asp and anaconda can be but think of the interior of a sidewinder or an eagle. What if you were to build a replica of the interior in real life and programmed the Vive to walk around in it. Just use coordinates to let the vive know where the walls of the ship is right?? The amount of time and money it would take and not to mention messing with the Vive would require...admin help would be a significant amount.
Again i have no idea if this is even possible but it was kinda a... fantasy i had. i just thought it would be cool to share with you people.
