Elite won't launch through Oculus Home

Okay, so... for a fresh start, I just did a new Windows 10 install from scratch on my machine.

Get my motherboard drivers up, graphics drivers... Oculus software...

Oculus Home is up and running. Alright, let's try installing Elite through Oculus Home.

It downloads 6.6 gigs, then tells me it needs a final step to install. I click okay, give it authorization, it does... something. And then finishes.

Except when I click play either in the desktop Home app, or in the headset, just.. nothing happens. maybe the slightest flicker of activity, then nothing. No errors, nothing.

Anyone else have this issue?

I had exactly the same thing after a fresh install. I posted about it but I'm a new user so it never appeared on the forum.

I could only run it by going and finding the ED exe and running it manually.

But then I had to log in and register every time I ran the launcher, including the code.

Also after all that, when I got it working, I couldn't get any sound.

In the end I installed through Steam and it was fine.

Sorry - can't find an edit. The post did appear on the forum.

Maybe I should add too - when I installed through Steam I went into my user profile folder, Local, and deleted both of the Frontier Developments and Frontier_deveopments folders (it was a new build and I'd never played ED on it so nothing really to lose). Although Steam and Oculus versions of ED install to different locations, they appear to share the same location for settings. So I deleted the settings Oculus version had created in order for Steam version to create its own, ensuring any dodgy sound settings didn't carry over from one install to the other.

Yup I'm having the exact same issue. Got a brand new PC for my Rift, just installed Windows 10 and a bunch of Oculus software and ED is the only piece of software that doesn't work. I'm getting the same thing you're getting, trying to Launch ED from Oculus Home doesn't do anything, maybe flickers briefly. I'm not going to install it on Steam if I'm going to play it on the Rift, that's the entire point of Oculus Home. Anyone found a solution?

I can't even get it to install in Oculus Home. I've installed a ton of stuff with no problems but when I try to install ED it downloads, goes through a long install procedure then right at the end it says failed to install. I've copied the .zip file from the download directory so I still have it, but I don't know how to manually install it. Any help would be appreciated.
