lol I get that. Different communities. And yeah, COD kids wouldn't like this game. Will probably complain how slow it is not understanding the point of the game. lol
I have always resented this elitist (pun not intended) attitude. I saw it in EVE-Online against WoW, and I see it in Halo against COD. Just because someone likes a game like COD or Battlefield doesn't mean they wouldn't enjoy Elite as well.
On Topic: I am surprised that the developers haven't released more paint jobs in the store, considering that it is a good way to get revenue from existing players. Decals I feel would also have to be Frontier controlled, since we'd see a lot of and swastikas otherwise (If you don't think an Elite-player would do that, get over yourself).

Considering I'm a die hard fps player and battlefield enthusiast I find myself playing Elite more then it so to say we wouldn't like the game is ludicrous but once again back on topic I said FD would have to control it the same way as other games control it cod being the least controlled by far and warframe being the most controlled as it has to be a special image type submitted checked and payed for before it gets put on your clan. If maintained properly and ran like that it would be fine I'm not saying put it in the actual game so any yahoo can throw around a flaccid cucumber but it would be nice if those of us who wanted something custom for our clans or wings whatever you want to call them. And if some willy nilly little kid wants to pay $10 to upload something that's clearly not gonna get approved then let them it's only making FD more money
I haven't played COD for years. And when I did I played the single player so no, I wasn't offended. The argument still stands, COD attracts millions of players. Calling the community childish because of very small minority is just immature and elitist.

Well, the reason because we can't have nice things is because men really have a habit of putting phalluses on everything. Be it the bathroom door in school as a kid or customizing decals in games.
If Frontier filtered them though it could work! But a more realistic alternative would be that Frontier created the decals themselves.

It's like I said before warframe has instituted this very well but it takes time you pay a non refundable $10 submit your emblem and hope that it gets approved. I will garuntee if there's blood or anything that may be construed as innapropriate it will not get approved and you will be out of your money with no emblem and you'll have to try again for another $10 so if people wanna keep uploading dumb stuff FD is gonna make bank while those of us who upload the proper stuff get a sweet emblem for our clan. People either follow the rules or loose money and the process takes weeks like 3-4 sometimes more depending on how many are submitted strict standards and a loss of money should be enough to keep the idiots from ruining it for the rest of us just like it does on warframe

On one hand, there'd be a huge variety of decals.
On the other hand, 50% of all decals you'd see would be primitive willy (pecker) shapes or artfully created women's backsides (phrasing that carefully - don't want a ban for using rude language).
That was the experience with custom decals in BattleField 4 - 2% art, 48% clipart and 50% indecent material.

I can imagine custom details being a pain in the neck for Frontier, due to either bad behavior or copyright infringement.

Whilst I agree with most of what you are saying, with regards to the BF4 decals - there were plenty of very well done ones, and I only found a few to be of poor taste. There are plenty with semi-clothed women but to be honest there were never ruder than the art you;d see on the side of bombers in WW2 - which considering we are talking about space fighters and freighters these designs would seem quite apt.
You guys are basing this on the assumption that the emblem creator would be something you could use in game without it having to be approved by devs before being uploaded to your character. Making people pay and also checking each emblem before it's uploaded into the game would completely eliminate this problem entirely no ifs and or butts. I will garuntee out of the few million who play warframe and the few thousand clan emblems that are currently in game you will not find a single image of a phallus or otherwise innapropriate object because they get denied and you loose money when they do. They send a nice little email saying "your emblem has been denied please change the image as it is innapropriate and submit again you will not be recieving a refund and must pay to resubmit another emblem" this ain't cod iM not saying put an emblem creator in the game I'm saying give those of us who want a special emblem the option to pay and submit a decal request that would only be approved at FD discretion how hard is that to comprehend?
I want to be able to carve a symbol into the side of my ship for every player I kill

I mean seriously come on if every emblem was approved by FD none of the pansy people wold ever have to worry about getting offended that someone painted a phallus larger then theirs on the side of their ship like come on people wouldn't you like to be able to have something special on your ship or are you too worried about getting offended you wanna ruin it for those of us who do?

I agree, I was just wondering if Frontier WANTS to deal with approving emblems. Might be a nice revenue stream at 5 or 10 dollars a pop, though.
Seems like a solution, however I'd rather they spent their time working on the game and bringing out new updates etc instead of having to sift through thousands of emblems and judging yay or nay!
That would be entirely up to them I just figured I'd bring up the suggestion because I have seen this implimented very well in other games and it would be one sweet deal if we could put what we wanted on the decal slots instead of the standard ranking decals and yes it would be a pretty steady increase in FD income since there would be those idiots who would constantly submit offensive emblems and not get a refund
Without a subscription model (an as an unabashed capitalist,) I'm in favor of them making as much money as they can without getting ridiculous like, say, Destiny.
