Enclosure inspiration

Because I'm getting ever more excited to create new enclosures and see what everyone else creates, I figured this thread could be used for some design inspiration.

This website has a full twenty-five pages of plans for some of the best examples of zoo exhibits created. A lot of the animals currently confirmed in Planet Zoo have at least one example exhibit included within this list and some such as the lion, tiger, giraffe, both species of elephant, wolf, red panda, chimpanzee, orangutan and ring-tailed lemur have multiple exhibits to look through.

I plan on trying to build an exhibit like this for my crocodiles in Planet zoo. Ultimately, I plan on trying to build an indoor zoo when the game comes out, with one of these exhibits in it.

I can't decide somehow, I want to do it all.
i like to make water park themed zoo more.
but the main game may not be a sea lion. in this case I will have to wait for DLC. :)

I really hope they do a marine park expansion or marine park/aquarium planet game, since I've always wanted a aquarium building game since I was little!

I have discovered this blog that does an excellent job of showcasing what makes for good exhibit design in zoos and aquariums. It includes such things as how to make barriers inconspicuous or blend in better with the landscaping, creating unique underwater viewing areas and details on what works for certain species. My favourite post is the one from July 2013 about the yellow-throated marten enclosure at Nuremberg Zoo. It simply reinforces why the yellow-throated marten is the animal I want most in Planet Zoo.

ZooLex has been an awesome read for anyone needing inspiration on enclosure design, and anyone that just is interested in what zoos do nowadays to enrich their animals. I've gone through hours reading about different things I'd love to try out in my zoos. A tiger enclosure that threads a path through visitor spaces sounds amazing! Thanks for the share!!

Another site that I have recently found is the exhibits section of 'Zoo Institutes'. There is no written information about the enclosures and the quality of the enclosures themselves is much more variable than on ZooLex but it looks like all of the announced main species for Planet Zoo have got at least a couple of exhibits pictured on the site.

Nice pics OP. The zoo's I've been to include Wellington, Auckland, Hamilton (once), and Sydney (twice). Otherwise there's your imagination but the images look very good.
