End of the Road

Just read it all after it was pointed out on the Xbox sub forum.A most excellent tale of comradeship, well done to all involved. Be really nice if some of the recommendations, naming of systems cmdr to fruition.Fly safe o7

I was actually about 95% sure before I took off, with you having as many sources as you did. I have seen it take 30 mins to an hour before anything but very commons spawn. With us finding one as soon as we did..it practically was immediately on arrival.

Are you sure you didn't sneak that Germanium in while I was looking at the contacts screen?

Macedonica sitting in silence contemplating his fate..... "Chiggy where are you?.... "

meanwhile:
Fast change camera scene to Chiggy sitting in his shaking crackling spaceship moaning in distress over the immense G forces, compressing his breathing just to keep from going unconscious, just finished loading up on neutron star plasma ejecta boost. Heat alarms sounding clearly in the background and electric fireworks and radiation warnings. The sound of his engines going into overdrive.
Fast change camera to the silence outside view in space, with Chiggy's ship flashing into a streak of light... and then he is gone to the next star system with a dampened thunderous sound.

Change scene to Rescue mission control centre and the masses who in silence and with worried faces looks on the screens all over the galaxy.
Fast change to Rescue control panel where we can see Chiggy's position swiftly changing systems.

Camera to control person face: "Man he is moving fast! I have never seen these kinds of jumps before."
- "He is using the lethal forces of the neutron stars above the mid galactic plane to boost the jump range. It is very dangerous. If the radiation does'nt kill him, the G forces probably will. Even if he use the inertia dampener at maximum."

Fast change to inside Chiggys ship, where a panel falls off going off like a bullet into the hull.
Chiggy: "Tweekie! Fix the panel of the intertia dampener or we will never see home again!"
The little Auto Field-Maintenance Unit robot, called Tweekie, hurrying by using magnetic feet to not get flying off like the panel did. Trying to repair the failing intertia dampener. Chiggy's eyes starting to bleed by the forces. "GGgggfffffmmmhh..."

...
Back to the silent loneliness of Macedonica, watching the galaxy map and Chiggy's progress:
"God I hate when he does that!" ( Chiggy jumped so fast that his last position escapes the viewed target system. ).

I'd love to see that. More nuanced 'destruction' scenarios. i.e. instead of "your ship blows up or it doesn't", there's also a scenario where your ship is damaged and you can still survive (and keep your exploration data, bounties, bonds etc.) intact if you can crash-land on a nearby planet and signal for rescue. Putt about in a SRV for a while - maybe even have repair tools on the SRV that can do some basic repairs to the ship?

Sounds awesome! I love the idea of situations where you loose your ships or at least can't fly it because of damage but are still able to continue playing on foot or in your SRV and can be rescued by other players (or the even NPCs?!). Has an awesome "The Martian" vibe to it!

That, sir, is genius. You have perfectly captured the disconnect between me sitting in the Lakon Type 6E viewing the galaxy map and Chiggy pulling off the Impossible Rescue!

Just a thing I find myself doing lately, since this whole thing went down...
I find myself checking for Germanium [haha] even though I have no way to collect it.
from what I've seen it's fairly common.
Fun times
