Endless loading (Is my zoo gone?)

Since the update today I've created a new zoo. When I just tried to load my zoo, PZ stays in the loading screen (without freezing).
The bear just keeps walking and the hints below keeps updating. However, even after more then 30 minutes, still no zoo loaded. Is my zoo gone? (franschise zoo).

The amounts of RAM memory in usage stays the same (+/- 2200MB) and the processor keeps beeing used by PZ by 20 - 25% (i7-7700)

Does any one have ideas??

You are not alone.

My franchise zoo does not load, too.

Verified game files, restarted, unchecked the Arctic DLC....the bear keeps strollin' and the music doodling....

Guess I'll get crazy in a moment

This isn't a new Problem. I've also had this some Time ago. Maybe deleting the newest Save game of the Zoo helps. Sadly it didn't help by me. If you do this, be sure to have at least one Save left that isn't a Autosave because a Autosave gets automatically replaced if you play in another Zoo

Delete the most recent manually made savegame? Well would cost me 90min playtime, but if it helps....
Hold on a sec, I'll try that.

Uhm...in Planet Zoo directly or Windows Explorer?

Directly in Planet Zoo. But as I mentioned: it helps with some Problems but at least my old Main-Zoo couldn't get saved this way. I would recommend to first copy the Save-Files if it doesn't help you should be able to put the Copys back in the Game Folder . I hope there will be someday a fix for this Problem

Did copy the file before deleting it in Planet Zoo.
But nope...does not load. Interestingly enough I can load my first zoo which ran into "refund bankrupcy" long before it got popular here.
Freakin' hell what to do now?!

If deleting the other Save games doesn't help, I would recommend to put the Copys of the Files in the Folder in which the Originals where and hope that it will get fixed in a Update. Sadly I don't know another Solution at the Moment

Fantastic! First "work done for this year" evening, some cool beers in the ref, got a new graphic card today, looking forward to the update and DLC all day and then....THIS!

Just don't feel like starting over again atm. Guess it's beyond 150hrs in this savegame, 10k visitors, almost 400 animals in the zoo, just added Indian Elephants, Rhinos and a massive African multi-species habitat to the Zoo....

GODDAMMIT!!!!! :poop:

I’m having sort of a similar problem I downloaded a youtube sandbox on steam and it played fine before update. It’s a demanding zoo it’s very detailed but before update I could play no problem. Now it crashes during loading. I highly doubt it’s my pc as I’ve downloaded very detailed planet coaster maps and it went fine so I’m kinda lost what causes this problem. It’s not a big deal as I usually look at the park for awhile and delete them anyway but it would be nice to have a fix.

I tried the deletion of the newest file. No change however. I also did some other tests with the local files, but nothing was enough to pass the loading screen. So far I'm afraid my zoo is gone.
However, I do think Frontier should put more effort in this, since this forum and Issue tracker is floaded with save file/loading issues. Perhaps a better backup file system?

Ladies and Gentleman,

after several hours of troubleshooting and turning Google inside and upside down I got my zoo back!!!! OK...it seems I have lost some progress, but it's back. 🤘

After reading some posts of the same problems in Planet Zoo AND Planet Coaster, I found that one of the possible solutions was trying turn all (unnecassary) background processes, overlays (steam etc.) off, besides deleting (or at least removing from the folder) the last manual save.
Did that, but as a Nvidia User, I could not get rid of that Nvidia Ansel overlay and its "Ready" message when firing up PZ.

After I finally turned it off, my very last yesterday savegame in the list loaded! Or let's say the earliest availible save from yesterday.

If you are a Nvidia User as well and you do get this damn Ansel message on startup, try this:

Open Windows Explorer and head to
/ProgramFiles/Nvidia Corporation/Ansel and look for the "NvCameraConfiguration.exe". Open it.
At the bottom of the menu you'll find "NvCamera is currently.." set this to disabled.

Now open PZ and try you latest availible savegames. You may get excited when you see the bear slightly stumbling here and there while loading, meaning its animation isn't completely fluent. In my case it was a clear indication that this savegame will successfully load. When his walk is fluent all the time, you can abort it. It won't load.
When it's loaded you can still kill the PZ process via taskmanager and try your next savegame.
As said my last yesterday savegame AND the Autosave just 3min earlier did not work, but nonetheless my zoo is back in business!

I really do hope that this will help you guys!

So I'm now back in my zoo....enjoying some beers and the show in my zoo!!!! 🍻

Gnaaaa....

OK Zoo is back, but now I do have all my kitten, puppy...recently born animals in my trade center and some of them in the habitats as well.
Moreover....ALL animals I bought yesterday evening, yes you are right....in the trade center and some of them also duplicated in the habitats where I left them yesterday.
Problem is, in the Zoo overview they DO NOT appear in the trade center list. When I go to the trade center button bottom left there....I can't even release them.

So after I celebrated having my zoo back, I received the next bummer as soon as I opened the trade center....98(!!) animals o_O. Yes there is always a stock of 20ish animals there which I keep from breeding for the next generation, but this....c'mon!!!
It's enough for today, I call it quits.

Yes I do work in Software Development, yes I am a Software Tester (in webfrontend however)....but this further s**tload of new heavy bugs in this new iteration, is one blatant shame!
I wonder who is responsible for this bellyflopper release within the open space of PZ development....I have a guess....the testers..they are NOT!

I fully feel you.
At work I do also some SW stuff and therefor I turned into another way. I tried to explode the data in the saved file and transfer this data into a still working save file. With the hope to exclude the broken piece. However is it still broken. The data which keeps the loading hanging is somewhere in the current animals. As soon as I transfer that data, the save file stops working. So even if you ever could get it back, the animals will be broken I guess. I really hope Frontier creates a solution.

You are not alone. My bf lost his zoo too. Hours and hours put into it. Send a ticket and the save file and got no response. Tried with deleting the save files then trying to load it on my computer...no luck. So yeah. I can handle the bugs and all that jazz, but unloadable save files is horrible.

It's not just horrible, it's the end. "Horrible" doesn't describe it enough.

I tried loading Deladysigner's Meilin Zoo yesterday night, failed to load, while it was still working fine on monday.

I guess it's again that time that the new update brings back some old bugs too......
Looks so familiar to Planco's early days.

Seems like they haven't learned a thing, and are just repeating mistakes of the past.
